@Joki_P0ki@PJohnHenryEden@miztifying You don't move faster while jumping. The bunny sniper was doing it in order to dodge incoming shots. They make fun of it because it looks silly and because of how prevalent it was, not because there's really anything wrong with it.
@Joki_P0ki@PJohnHenryEden@miztifying It was mostly a background character so fair enough but the character existing is my point. People were hopping around since BF2 at the very least (though I can only personally vouch for it happening since BC2) with jump peeking becoming a lot more important post BF3
@miztifying But on the other side are people also crying about the lack of a skill gap (including me). Neither are really happy with the current state of the movement in the game. Both would be happier with BF4-style movement that has a higher skill ceiling but is also more difficult
@swaguley You gotta time your jumps properly. You don't typically jump in the middle of a gun fight. You sprint jump before rounding a corner so that you maintain sprint speed while having your gun ready to shoot just after rounding the corner. You really only need to account for spread
@miztifying@swaguley It makes it less oppressive but also far more frequent. Movement could be insane but they won't care much if only 1 in 1000 can actually use it properly without getting fucked by penalties. They don't care how strong it is, only how much they have to deal with it
@catslashmouse@miztifying The players complaining about the movement aren't maxing our their FOV, though. A lot of the time they're the same kind of people that think you're a sweaty nerd for doing it
@Joki_P0ki@PJohnHenryEden@miztifying Remember bunny sniper from Battlefield Friends? A gag character that showed up in the background in many of the episodes? It was such prevalent behaviour that this character was created.
@miztifying@swaguley This means even casual players will end up using it which makes it far more prevalent in gameplay. Of course this also leads to a much smaller skill gap but they don't care for this nearly as much as the prevalence part of it
@miztifying@swaguley I think a big part of it is that while BF4'd movement is much more powerful and oppressive when used properly it's also more difficult to use properly which means casual players will use it less. Sliding and jumping in BF6 is less effective but much easier
@PeepMySlashLine@EndersFPS Well take it from me then that if you position well you can get just as many kills as you can with any other weapon while being relatively safer (since the only thing that can actually contest you are other snipers). The biggest downside is that you can't be as aggressive
@PeepMySlashLine@EndersFPS Anyone can get kills with snipers. Kill count is just as useful as your level. All it means is you use snipers a lot, not if you're actually any good. Post the rest of your profile. KPM, W/L, K/D, things that actually shows the caliber of player.
@turtsnopancake@nick_mDrummer@EndersFPS It is absolutely viable to use to initiate gun fights. Not at range because of spread penalties, but it's still very powerful at close range due to the speed at which you appear on the enemy's screen while having your gun ready which wouldn't be possible without sprint jumping.
@turtsnopancake@nick_mDrummer@EndersFPS BF6's movement is better at the skill floor and easier to use but not as powerful. BF4's movement is very powerful even without the glitches. It has everything to do with how your world model looks to enemies while you're performing them. It's just very jerky.
@turtsnopancake@nick_mDrummer@EndersFPS OK so don't spam crouch too quickly. The animation itself is pretty jerky which can throw off an enemy's aim. It's not that insane on its own but you can throw some crouches in with the rest to dodge around people's aim.
@turtsnopancake@nick_mDrummer@EndersFPS Strafing is much jerkier. Not so much in that you strafe very quickly, but the way it jerks your player model around makes it much better than what we got post BF1 (used to be fine in BF1 but they heavily nerfed acceleration and the 3D model animation to make it easier to track).
@turtsnopancake@nick_mDrummer@EndersFPS You don't need steady aim. Your shots come from the center of your screen. Simply ignore your reticle going down and aim with screen center. It's very simple and very effective even without ZouZou.
@turtsnopancake@nick_mDrummer@EndersFPS You can jump peek without air strafing. Run forwards alongside the wall, jump, aim to the left or right, land just after rounding the corner. This is the basic jump peek. You don't need to be accurate in CQC. ZouZou only works when used with non-destructable walls.
