If you're a big cheddar cheese fan, you can thank interactions between Streptococcus thermophilus and strains of Lactococcus for part of its distinct cheddary taste.

Savoring any Cheddar cheese this winter season? Did you know that the scrumptious fruity, creamy, and nutty flavors are a product of bacterial interactions? Check out our new study to learn more https://t.co/cytUU8KnMr 🧀 🧬 #cheese#metabolism

@ArzamasovAlex Glad you understand the importance and acknowledge the extensive effort required to generate manually curated models that are 'practically usable' in real life applications
@luispedrocoelho@randomdan1el @emanuelvgo @antisens3@istecnico@SCSatCMU I would personally not always hard link journal titles to their scope, but this merits another discussion :)
Here's a different opinion that considers computational biology as a subfield of bioinformatics (preface of Bioinformatics Programming using Python)
@randomdan1el@luispedrocoelho @emanuelvgo @antisens3@istecnico@SCSatCMU I think academically, computational biology is about developing algorithms (perhaps using a pen and a paper) to analyze biological data, whereas bioinformatics is about implementing and applying these algorithms for the actual analysis of data
@vdlorenzo_CNB@OdedRechavi I always believed that a review article in a decent journal is much more visible and and accessible than chapters in edited books, at least based on citations.
Authored books, however, still have their own niche.
Interested in modelling microbial communities and predictive modulation? My lab is looking for a postdoc to join #ERC funded project on kefir and gut microbial communities. https://t.co/F3nL1py2k8
