Sometimes - parents do have a tendency to talk about irrelevant stuff.

I mean - if asked about duration of fever - they will start with ‘how child was fine on Monday morning , went to school, had a fight with a boy - came back - was angry -then slept and woke up . Was fine in the night also - ate his favourite chicken curry.
Next day also he was fine - then on Wednesday morning he started having fever. So, since it’s Thursday morning - 1 day’

We thought he didn’t want to go to school due to the fight and still sent him but later call from school came that he is actually sick.

Now I understand- why this talk happens. And it’s actually okay for parents to blabber.

But many 50+ year folks have lost patience and are actually way to good with diagnosis. Their brain works like an algorithmic machine which needs data - relevant one.

More importantly - while a doctor in private practice might listen to everything that you say - including your chachi ki nani ki mausi stories - a doctor in Govt practise really won’t. They simply don’t have the time. They will actually shut you and ask - tell the damn answer to my relevant questions.

The said Senior Pediatrician- I’m not sure who he is. I’m reasonably sure - he also works in govt hospital along with his private practise.
He can’t turn of the govt persona which a lot of people expect.

Which is why people like Chat GPT.
Not because it’s better.
I can argue it’s objectively worse than any run old the mill doctor.

But becuase - it has that ego satisfying tone. It’s not you , it’s X. Oh - I’m very sorry.

It’s ‘Her’ movie on steroids.

People who go to a doctor are looking for ego massages + treatment.

People who use ChatGPT will get the ego massage.
I’m not sure whether they’ll actually get the correct treatment.

Which I may say - it’s better to have your ego bruised with an alive kid than a dead kid with your ego massaged.

South India’s toxic center JIPMER had seen 30 PG students took psychiatric counseling in the year 2025 ( Refer point 6) which shows the level of cruel inhumane duty hours and residency ragging by JR2 & JR3 with blessing of insensitive sleeping HoDs

Dear parents of PG students & Fellow Indians please don’t get deceived by the brand value and useless NIRF ranking of JIPMER.

PG ragging in JIPMER is very harsh almost in all clinical departments especially in Ortho. In Ortho no JR can get a week off for the first 180 days of ragging period and juniors are never allowed to eat brush and bathe. Also Ortho JRs have twice 36 hours cruel inhumane duty against residency scheme guidelines. HoD does nothing to alleviate the suffering. All done by senior PGs.

Dear ortho JRs & other JRs of JIPMER if your HoD / consultant or any faculty or senior humiliates / yells at you in front of nurses please file a complaint in CPGRAM as well with the national human rights commission. Please update your parents about illegal duty hours & human rights violations.
Please share live location to parents every 6 hours which would be an evidence for 24 to 36 duty hours
You can file FIR on HoD & Dean under BNS 146.

Please keep parents updated about no week off and 2 hours sleep , one meal toxic culture

Or else file a FIR in nearby police station under BNS 352 for intentional insult which will land the abuser 2 years in Jail

A lot of people preparing for NEET PG have issues remembering which disease is autosomal recessive, what is dominant.

While ofcourse - at the end of the day it is a little bit of rote memorisation - there is a certain logic to it.

Remember- enzymes- pretty much of all them in our body are more than what’s required.
So, even a 50% enzyme activity suffices for majority.

Hence, unless enzymes are fully zero - disease won’t manifest.

So, any enzyme deficiency- will be AR - both genes have to be mutated/absent.

Galactosemia
Glycogen storage disorders
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia
Alpha 1 anti trypsin
Wilson

Even 1/2 Hb causes mild anemia - so even That/Sickle cell are AR.

Contrast this with neuromuscular damage in general.
Anything that causes damage to nerves and Muscle- even 50% damage would result in disease.
If you look at AD diseases - most are have some issues either with nerves or muscles or cytoskeleton.
