21-year-old Nagat Ahmed supports her household in fetching water: “It was very dangerous. The well was very deep so we always needed to be held by friends as we lowered the bucket."
On #WorldWaterDay, let's commit to #WaterAction for everyone to have safe access to clean water.
I saw for myself the devastating impact of conflict on children's nutrition, health and safety last December in Yemen.
UNICEF is on the ground with life-saving services, but more than anything, children need peace.
“I wish for a bright future. I wish my family and I could have a happy life without fear or war,” said Samira, a refugee from Somalia. Hundreds of thousands of people are crossing the border into #Ethiopia due to the unrest in Somaliland.
Water = life.
World leaders must take urgent #WaterAction to protect the lives of children by strengthening access to safe water, hygiene services and sanitation.
Climate change and conflicts are making the water crisis worse - and children are disproportionately impacted.
Governments at the UN #WaterAction Conference must take urgent steps to ensure access to safe water is a reality #ForEveryChild.
Water is life.
Water is every child’s right.
As leaders meet in New York to discuss #WaterAction, UNICEF calls on them to make sure children are at the centre of every water agenda.

15-year-old Aynye used to feel weak and faint in class in Oromia, Ethiopia.
Now she’s feeling much stronger after receiving iron and folic acid supplements from UNICEF and partners.
