Anchor - The Catholic Bishop Conference warns against what it described as the creeping danger of one party dominance state. What was the President’s response to that?
Cardinal John Onaiyekan - “The position of Mr President’s came very clearly in that statement that he made. ‘In politics all is fair,’ is that true? If that is what politics is that in politics everything can be done provided you win an election. That is not correct! We are worried for the fact that we see clearly that our government is bent on winning by all means. Unfortunately, they have every means at their disposal to win and they are deploying all those means in a way that eventually even if we have a free and fair election, the votes of the people may not count.”
This conversation dovetailed from the Catholic Bishop’s visit to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani admits the city can't arrest Benjamin Netanyahu.
Despite his campaign promise to have the Israeli prime minister arrested, Mamdani was forced to concede that New York City doesn't have legal authority to execute the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant.
Mamdani instead called on the federal government to enforce the warrant if Netanyahu visits New York, while reiterating that he believes the Israeli leader should be "arrested and tried for his crimes."
Netanyahu is expected to travel to New York in September for the United Nations General Assembly.
"When a church is built, its leadership is entrusted to a qualified and knowledgeable pastor. Likewise, when a mosque is built, a learned and competent scholar is chosen to lead the prayers. In the same way, why shouldn't we entrust the leadership of our society to someone with knowledge, competence, and the capacity to lead?"

“It’s obvious that President Tinubu knows very well and doesn’t mind that people pay money to his principal staff to get appointments and to get access. So it’s del credere government. It’s a clearing and forwarding government. The Senate does not exist because the Senate President is the Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Comedy, MC and Ceremonial openings. The senate has lost its leadership. There is a decapitation of the Senate”
