Today’s distribution of free fertilizers courtesy of HE @ubasanius , will significantly boost local agriculture and enhance food security across our communities. This generous support alongside infrastructure projects, investments in human capital, and the recent appointments of distinguished Lere sons and daughters into state leadership, clearly demonstrates HE @ubasanius dedicated service to our people.

Promises Made, Promises Fulfilled!

Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed his commitment to restore hope to the family of the late Ummulkhair, who was brutally killed by a mob several months ago at Maraban, Jos, by enrolling her four surviving children in a school.

The Governor previously pledged to support her family while ensuring that justice is served. Several arrests have since been made, and the case is currently before the court. In addition to securing the children's education, the Governor had earlier given her husband financial support (N10m). He purchased a befitting house for the family in the city center of Kaduna town.

May Allah bless Governor Uba Sani, grant Ummulkhair Jannatul Firdaus, and preserve the children she left behind.

I am deeply honoured and humbled to be the central subject of a momentous occasion today in Kaduna, commemorating my enduring relationship with my late mentor, Chief Abdul-Ganiyu Oyesola Fawehinmi, SAN, GCON, and celebrating the publication of the very important book, ‘Gani Fawehinmi and Uba Sani: A Tale of Mentor and Mentee’, authored by his daughter, my dear sister, Mrs. Basirat Fawehinmi-Biobaku, Esq. This gathering is far more than a book launch; it is a tribute to a remarkable life and an invitation to reflect on the values of courage, justice, democracy, education and service that defined Chief Gani’s extraordinary journey. I am particularly delighted to welcome and reconnect with many of the comrades and activists with whom I stood shoulder to shoulder during Nigeria’s historic pro-democracy struggle.

I am immensely grateful to Mrs. Fawehinmi-Biobaku for documenting this important chapter of our national story. By bringing these memories and experiences into enduring form, she has preserved not merely the account of a personal relationship, but a remarkable tradition of mentorship, sacrifice and service whose lessons will continue to resonate with generations yet unborn.

Among Chief Gani’s many enduring legacies, his unwavering commitment to education remains especially close to my heart. I was privileged to play a role in extending his scholarship scheme to Northern Nigeria, where it supported more than 1,000 brilliant but indigent students. Many of these beneficiaries have since become accomplished professionals, contributing meaningfully to our nation. That experience reinforced my abiding conviction that investing in the education of one young person can transform a family, uplift a community and positively alter the destiny of generations.

I was deeply moved by the generous reflections of the comrades, activists and distinguished speakers who spoke about my closeness to Chief Gani, my participation in the pro-democracy struggle and the responsibility I have assumed to preserve and advance the ideals for which he lived and fought. Their description of me as a living reflection of his values is profoundly humbling, but it is also a solemn reminder that public service must ultimately be judged not by titles or acclaim, but by the difference it makes in the lives of ordinary people. This conviction continues to shape my administration in Kaduna State, particularly our commitment to education, vocational training, human capital development and social inclusion.

I am thrilled to announce a major milestone in our journey toward a more prosperous and educated constituency. As your representative, I have always believed that education is the greatest equalizer, hence, I hereby bring glad tidings of the captured provision of the Lere Federal Constituency University Education Center.

The engineering design to make it a Tech-based World-class Educational Hub is complete.

Deepest gratitude to HE Malam Isa Yuguda, the Board Chairman of @nounofficial_ , HE @ubasanius, HE @Speaker_Abbas and Council Chairman Lere LG Hon. Jafaru Ahmadu Zaki for their valuable contributions in advancing the realization of this momentous project.

This university will offer a complete academic ladder:

✅ Undergraduate Degrees for our youth. From Lere proceeding direct to NYSC will now be possible.
✅ Masters Programs for professional specialization.
✅ PhD Programs for advanced research and academic leadership.

This is a victory for our fathers, our mothers, and most importantly, our children. Our critical mission of economic alignment is clear on our fact-finding mission to ensure that the vision of the Ports and Customs Efficiency Committee is not just a policy on paper, but a reality on the quayside.

#AfCTA and extension of #AGOA are a massive opportunity, but it is also a deadline. If Nigerian ports are not the most efficient in West Africa, we will lose our competitive edge to our neighbors. We must achieve a seamless clearance cycle to ensure that 'Made in Nigeria' products can reach continental markets without being strangled by port delays.

As a Nation we must be galvanised to have a futuristic outlook, ensuring our water inland water ways are fully developed, so that ships loaded with containers can reach modernized ports in Baro, Makurdi and beyond.

The House of Representatives recognizes the tireless work of @PEBECgovng in driving the ease of doing business in Nigeria as every hour of delay at these docks is a tax on the Nigerian consumer and a deterrent to foreign investment.

The synergy between the Legislature and the Executive remains cohesive, specifically through the @KashimSM leadership on this committee, as we transform our maritime gateways from bottlenecks into engines of growth.

Last year was a year of "surviving the storm" of macroeconomic reforms. Today, we must shift our focus to "commanding the sea" as we transition from abstract macroeconomic numbers to concrete strategic growth that our citizens must directly feel in their daily lives.

The Dokan Lere to Ramin Kura road project does more than connect Point A to Point B, it connects people to opportunities by connecting our students to schools, our sick to hospitals and farmers to markets.

In our shared journey through this 10th @HouseNGR, Dr. Dunkwu Chamberlain Nnamadi was more than just a dedicated staff officer, he was a pillar of support, a brilliant legislative mind, and a calming presence in the often turbulent waters of our work.

To @Speaker_Abbas, I know how much you relied on his counsel and his unwavering loyalty. To lose such a close confidant is a burden we can only imagine, and my heart goes out to you personally during this incredibly difficult time.

If the birthday of anyone of us happens to fall on the 7th of March, then you must feel the hallowness of today evermore so. His congratulatory message is absent. The cake you are expecting given to you with open arms and a radiant smile from him is also missing. The candle light of the national assembly just got dimmer and the halls we roam in feels emptier. We will miss him dearly.

To the beloved family of this wonderful man, please know that you are not alone in your grief. We, his colleagues and friends, share in this heavy burden. We pray that the Almighty grants you the fortitude to bear this unimaginable loss and that his legacy brings you some measure of comfort in the days ahead.
