Today, September 27, 2026, Hamas and its Prisoners’ Media Office released statements condemning Ben Gvir’s filmed visit to Ganot Prison, during which he threatened to kill imprisoned resistance leader Hassan Salama.
Hamas stated:
“The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirms that the video posted by Ben Gvir, the extremist minister in the Zionist occupation government, will not shake Hassan Salama’s resolve or that of our prisoners. This video, staged for show, included a death threat against the imprisoned leader. It portends further murders targeting him and our heroic prisoners as part of the occupation’s policy of turning prisons into sites of outright killing, in flagrant violation of all international laws.
We have made every possible effort, at every level and by every means, to secure the release of our prisoners from the occupation’s prisons. We continue to do so and will remain committed to this pledge until they are free.
Our heroic people will remain faithful to their national causes, foremost among them the cause of the prisoners. The criminal Ben Gvir and his fellow extremist, terrorist masters of the occupation will not intimidate them.
Ben Gvir and his fellow leaders of the fascist entity will meet the same fate as other war criminals throughout history.

The Prisoners’ Media Office stated:
“Ben Gvir’s appearance inside the prison is political grandstanding for electoral gain and an act of bullying against a defenseless, shackled prisoner.
We call on international and human rights organizations to confront this public incitement and protect the prisoners.
We hold the occupation fully responsible for the life and safety of imprisoned leader Hassan Salama.
Hassan Salama’s physical appearance reveals the effects of starvation, torture, and systematic medical neglect.”
Israel has denied Palestinians access to painkillers and anesthesia, leaving wounded patients to endure unimaginable agony.
Hospitals—places meant to save lives—have also been attacked and destroyed.
This is the horror Palestinians have been forced to endure.
