Rational Animations just released a breakdown of the arguments for pausing AI. It visualizes the "Cliff Edge", the moment we lose control of systems smarter than us, and describes the trap we are in: The Prisoner’s Dilemma. Companies and nations feel forced to race because they fear that if they stop, someone else will get ahead.

But there is a flaw in this logic.

There is no "winning" a race off a cliff.

If building a superintelligence before we have solved alignment leads to a loss of control, which many leading experts believe is the default outcome, then "getting there first" is not a strategic advantage. It is a suicide pact. Once world leaders truly internalize that the prize at the finish line is likely catastrophe, the incentives to race evaporate.

This is where you come in.

History is full of moments where "experts" said coordination was impossible. Where they said the geopolitical momentum was unstoppable. Until it wasn't.

Social change doesn't happen linearly. It happens in thresholds. There is a critical number of people who need to understand the severity of the situation. Once we cross that threshold, what seemed "politically impossible" yesterday becomes "inevitable" tomorrow.

We are building that critical mass. We are not asking for polite, voluntary slowing down. We are building the political will for an enforced international agreement that recognizes a simple truth:

We should not build what we cannot control.

i genuinely believe all children of the world are a shared responsibility, even if you don’t have any of your own. when you’re in a public space with children around, i think it’s right to be aware of what’s happening, who’s interacting with them, and whether something feels off.
