Every time we connect a school, a hospital, or a government office to the internet, we’re not just building infrastructure; we’re building a smarter, more inclusive Uganda. 🇺🇬
Did you know Uganda has its own digital highway called the National Backbone Infrastructure (NBI) powered by @NITAUganda1?
This network is quietly doing big things: connecting ministries, hospitals, schools, and districts with fast, reliable internet. It’s helping government services go digital and thereby boosting transparency, and improving how services reach YOU.

We have gazetted 38 High Court Circuits under the Judicature
(Designation of High Court Circuits) Instrument, 2023; and under the
Magistrates Courts (Magisterial Areas and Magistrates Courts)
Instrument, 2024, we have designated each district as a Magisterial Area and every County-Constituency as a Magistrate Grade One Court.
We seek for funds to operationalise these Courts so that justice seekers
can access justice at a faster and cheaper cost. We are also making every effort to simplify Court processes and enhance
the use of ICT in the delivery of justice services, in order to demystify
Court processes and make Courts more accessible and user friendly.
Virtual hearings are now a reality which has reduced on litigation costs
and promoted efficiency.
Accordingly, the introduction of ECCMIS has brought home to our
people the following and other benefits: increased case filing, increased case disposal through unlimited 24/7 access to the case file, increased non-tax revenue collection through online payment methods,
transparency in managing case information, cheaper case processing
costs (no need for transportation, stationery, archival space, etc),
improved security of Court Files, no forgery loss of documents and
improved communication between the Courts and the parties through
instant e-notifications.
We have ushered in and are now robustly pursuing Alternative Dispute
Resolution (ADR) mechanisms; such as Mediation, Small Claims
Courts, and Plea Bargaining. With support from the Pepperdine
University, we have trained retired Judges and notable civil servants
who have joined us in this noble mission.

Throwing back to May 2022, when the @pdpoUG launched the Data Protection and Privacy portal which significantly streamlined key processes. The portal made it easy for data controllers and processors to register and report breaches related to personal data misuse, while also allowing individuals to file complaints with ease. To date, the office has registered 3,714 entities through this platform, marking a major milestone in promoting data protection compliance. #DataPrivacyUG #PersonalDataisPrivate
