Friends, this holiday season, try to reach out to those who have little of no friends, no family, and no reason to cheer. They may be involuntarily stuck in a state of loneliness. They don't need your money; they don't need your gifts.
Maybe just a little bit of attention.
@BeirutCalling Dear Michael, without lecturing if you have not taken the third shot please do so. It is protective against omicron to a significant degree. Remember at the begging WHO was doubting the effectiveness of mask use!
In retrospect, this assessment of Trump's decision to withdraw from the JCPOA was not off the mark. Today, even with Trump gone, the most likely path the parties have left for themselves is war: https://t.co/ynDXWplP66 #JCPOA#NuclearTalks#nuclear
HUGE thanks to our Executive Director Marty Liggett for her superb administrative leadership here giving her feet a well deserved rest! With her help the mtg was a smashing success by all measures! #ASH21 @ASH_hematology
Congratulations on a great effort showing equivalency of nivolumab and sorafenib in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (CheckMate 459): a randomised, multicentre, open-label, phase 3 trial https://t.co/0a52xq6PWd
Amazing story of translating research from Doug Melton’s laboratory into the clinic. It all started when his son was diagnosed with type I diabetes and he changed the direction of his research in search for a cure. https://t.co/I7MP69mjx9
Governments are finally learning that [early] lock-out is vastly more effective & cheaper than [late] lockdown.
This is something the Byzantines, Ottomans, Venitians, & Austro-Hung. [actually anyone who knew anything abt 1)Trans-Eurasian commerce & 2)Risk logic] understood well.
@nntaleb Excellent observation! That is one reason why many of us in medicine keep on buying and reading physical texbooks. We use the online versions mainly to down load pictures and make slides.
All at @AUB_Lebanon are proud of Drs. @ShirinianM, @SaabDrR, & @NagiSaghir for receiving the King Hussein Award for Excellence in Cancer Research. Sincere thanks to our friends and partners, @GhidaTalal, @KHCFKHCC.
Daunting numbers but utterly realistic @AliHMokdad. Vaccination rates too low, and inadequate masking. Hospitals and health systems in Lebanon are more strained than a year ago. Everyone needs to step up now to prevent a truly dire situation this winter.
