@carlympowers We read aloud A LOT, but we've never done so at meal times. I tried a couple of times, but we just didn't enjoy it. We would rather talk about what we've been reading at those times. 🤷♀️
@MrsCMFrancis It sounds like it could be histamine related! I had a severe histamine issue about 5 years ago, & it was always worst upon waking up.
A couple of prayer requests this morning. My friend Nahum is fighting the same cancer I am. We are both stage four. So I am praising God for a good report for him this morning, and I ask for continued prayers that he will be completely and miraculously healed of this cancer.
Two, tomorrow I have my first scan since being re-staged to stage four. It’s been a stressful time and the scans cause a lot of anxiety, I’ll admit. So if I could ask for prayers for God’s peace and freedom from anxiety. And also that tomorrow, my scan will be clean, and there will be no more unpleasant surprises!
Thanks friends.
@alisa_childers You should take Angelina Stanford's How to Read Fairytales mini-class through House of Humane Letters.
It is absolutely amazing. The Gospel images throughout them will leave you speechless.

@TheRobertBshow We started in a February, many years ago, while I was still working full-time. I was a teacher at the school we pulled my daughter out of. It wasn't easy, but it was completely worth it!
Regarding "public school is/isn't a sin":
I think so much of the current discourse on education misses the true purpose of education entirely, & it really breaks my heart.
No matter the school board, superintendent, principal, or teacher of your local public school, they are all "anti-God by federal mandate" - as a wise man once said.
I think that's worth remembering.
@AMS_Perkins When I taught in public school, the mindset seemed to be:
If the child succeeds, the school gets the credit.
If a child struggles, it's the parents' fault.
@bebookled This is why we currently have pumpkins covered in snow on our front porch.😅 Thankfully it's supposed to warm up a bit, but it has been making us laugh all week.
Finally wrote about our "Christmas School" reads for this year. It's a bit more challenging in 8th grade, but I think our plan turned out really well!!
