For a person to say "I am not ok" when they are in fact not ok, is a marker of health. This disrupts our construction of health as absolute or binary, and reminds us that we can both be powerful and vulnerable, struggling on and brave, all at the same time.
I would still be able to articulate a defense of complementarianism, but I’m no longer in that camp. I know many people are working through their own questions on the subject, so I thought I’d share some of what led me to change my view.

10 yrs ago I sat in a room with a few pastors, one of whom was in the midst of a meteoric rise in fame. I noticed him frequently making sexist, inappropriate jokes, while the other pastors laughed. They brushed it off as harmless, and continued to commend him to me & others. (1/)
