i'm going to be clinging to things like art, community, and empathy not just in the days to come, not just in the following years, but my entire life. those are the only things that make sense to me even when the rest of the world doesn't
Will Ferrell says he believes transphobia exists because “I think we fear what we don’t know”
“I don’t know why trans people are meant to be threatening to me as a male. I don’t know why Harper is threatening to me. It’s so strange to me, because Harper is finally… her. She’s finally who she was always meant to be…
Why would you care if somebody’s happy? Why is that threatening to you? If the trans community is a threat to you, I think it stems from not being confident or safe with yourself.”

What Will Ferrell’s demonstrating here is what anti-trans fanatics are fundamentally incapable of: empathy, & the willingness to listen & learn.
If people actually sat down & talked to a trans person, they’d realise they’re been fed a load of hyperbolised disinformation by the media & non-experts like JK Rowling.
@helloitislivy This is so real and valid, I really recommend watching some live performance (music, theatre, even a movie) and I find that my motivation and inspiration bounces back from that :)
What a wild juxtaposition of having my residents LOVE a drag queen performer at the nursing home and then some homophobic guy in priest school getting angry at these buttons from nuns at our local pride this weekend
