The other day, my cousin wanted me to send her insulin to Mombasa and asked for the fastest courier.
I was thinking how it would be efficient to have an air courier for these things, and wallah today I get a message from Skyward. They provide it at 350 Ksh per kg, same-day delivery, of course. Terms and conditions apply.
I think its not a westlands problem, its a whole county issue. Once you land at JKIA, the stench starts all the way.
2027 is coming, @SakajaJohnson will need to give us answers on his sewarage systems and where it went wrong.
Why does Westlands smell?
A burst sewer, urine, garbage and filth at one of Nairobi’s busiest roundabouts. This is no longer simply bad behaviour. It is a governance failure.
Where is the County Government? Fix the sewer. Provide sanitation. Enforce the law. Clean Nairobi. @SakajaJohnson
The moment his private‑equity‑backed company was sold for a billion to Partners Group.
I saw the video and assumed it had to be fake.
Dean Forbes was homeless twice, written off again and again, and still became a first‑class PE operator.
Thread 🧵
A reminder from Atomic Habits by James Clear:
“It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment.”
1. Stop waiting for permission. Nobody is coming to save you. Not your old man, mother, or the government. Men move first and figure it out while moving. Boys wait until they feel ready. You'll never feel ready.
2. Be capable of violence. This isn't about being aggressive. It's about knowing that you CAN protect the people you love if you have to. A man who can't defend his family is a dependent. Train your body and mind. Be dangerous enough that peace is a choice, not a weakness.
3. Take risks. The life you want won't fall in your lap. You have to bet on yourself when nobody else will. Business, relocation, and hard conversations make the move scary. Regret is heavier than failure.
4. Own everything. Your bad decisions. Your results. Your circumstances. The moment you stop blaming your old man, your government, and your situation. That's the moment your life actually starts. Accountability is the most masculine trait alive.
5. Increase your testosterone. Sleep. Lift heavily. Cut the porn. Eat real food. Reduce stress. Your T levels are the engine behind your drive, your confidence, and your discipline. Let your T levels drop, and everything drops with it.
luck changes when you start moving.
when you stop living the same day over and over again.
same people. same mindset. same places. same excuses.
go talk to people. start things. leave your city. build something. post something. chase something. move. because every move puts you in rooms, conversations, and opportunities your old life could never reach.
that’s why some people keep getting “lucky.”
they aren’t sitting still long enough for life to miss them.
and yeah, this part matters too:
growth feels uncomfortable as hell at first.
you gotta leave the old version of yourself behind before the new one can exist. you gotta feel exposed. uncertain. lost for a bit.
lobsters literally outgrow their shell and stay vulnerable until the new one hardens.
same sh!t with humans.
your next life starts the moment your old shell starts feeling too small.
@IanECox We all know the cause of the accident. Ask anyone who knows that route. If you're waiting for an answer on the news you won't get it, just like other minor crashes in small airstrips.
@akech_andrew Thats the difference between Ethiopia and Kenya. Kenya uses its loans to sustain its salaries and old debt but Ethiopia uses its loans to plan ahead.
- don’t go empty handed
- no matter how many times you’re told to feel at home, do not open any door without permission (especially fridge)
- after an hour, make it known you’ll soon be on your way
- whatever you’re offered, kindly accept it, pray over it and eat it—do not waste food!
- do not be the one always visiting, let them come over too once in a while
