I've been watching this week closely, and this is why I think Ruto wins in 2027. He wasn't doing press conferences in Nairobi. He was in Kajiado inspecting a Sh9.4 billion, 65km Illasit Rombo Njukini Taveta road that cuts travel from about two hours to under 45 minutes, a Sh2.7 billion power line, last mile electricity, markets, housing and KMTC hostels. That is the kind of work that actually lowers costs for traders and farmers. That is what convinces me.

I am certain that your shallow research hasn't yet enlightened you to the fact that the NARC-Rainbow Coalition which brought Kibaki to power was a creation of the one and only Raila Odinga. While Kibaki, @mamangilu and Wamalwa Kijana, all of National Alliance Kenya (NAK), held endless hotel meetings which Moi derogatorily dismissed as "too much tea over nothing", it took Raila's leaving Kanu and uniting everyone under the Rainbow movement, for the opposition to be strong enough to actually challenge Moi.

Now, if anyone had money to buy Raila, and if the latter had been up for sale, the people who had money were the Kanu side running Uhuru Kenyatta for President. But why did Raila need to be bought when everyone acknowledged at that time that he was both the brains behind NARC-Rainbow, as well as the single uniting power behind the movement?

You need to find the video of Kibaki's cardiologist, Dr Gikonyo, giving an interesting anecdote, for context. Gikonyo has confessed many times that after Kibaki was injured in the accident and was being flown to hospital in London, Raila walked into the flight and found that Kibaki was to be flown in Economy, despite all his injuries. Apparently the issue was money. Raila then mobilised a few people to carry Kibaki to Business, before proceeding to swipe his own card to pay for the sick Kibaki's upgrade. So Kibaki had money to buy Raila, but not enough to spend on his own treatment and travel comfort, while carrying life-threatening injuries? Which shallow philosophy is that?

Let us talk about the Nyachae deal. It is public knowledge that immediately after the agreement, as Raila left Nyachae's house, the latter made a comment to his close associates that since they both came from Nyanza, he would not be honouring Raila's desire to be Prime Minister if he won. Someone immediately alerted Raila, who, quite rightfully, decided to trash the agreement. But even before that, common sense and intelligence calculations already indicated that the best way to neutralise Uhuru and Kanu was for the opposition to run a Kikuyu candidate. The choice narrowed down to Kibaki or George Muthengi Saitoti. But Saitoti had only recently left Kanu and was still unwelcome as a national opposition candidate. Kibaki was the more sensible option.

People like you @thisafricangirl dwell in the pit of ignorance and shallow sloganeering, where unchallenged defamation thrives. There is no research that can change historical facts. And the fact, acknowledged by everyone except you historical dwarfs, is that Raila delivered the presidency to Kibaki in 2002 and was thanked with donkey kicks. But obviously, your biggest issue is that you think Raila should hate people on your behalf and carry your bitterness at nearly 80 years of age. You have already fashioned yourself as a young leader. What gripe then do you still have with someone whose best days, according to you, are in the past?

I join those who have pointed out that your research should focus on that Uasin Gishu scholarship scandal. It is inconceivable that you can be an expert in national politics but have no ability to remedy local village challenges among your people. Besides, you and the shallow revolutionaries without a cause will not trivialise the works of the country's foremost statesman while we history guards are still here!
