Nehemiah Danjuma makes history as Northern Nigeria’s First Deaf Lawyer
Nehemiah Danjuma has made history after being called to the Nigerian Bar, becoming the first deaf lawyer from Northern Nigeria.
Danjuma, who is from Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, earned a Second Class Upper degree in Common Law from the University of Ilorin before completing his Bar Part II programme at the Abuja Campus of the Nigerian Law School.
Celebrating the milestone on his X account, Danjuma described the achievement as a historic moment.
"First Deaf Lawyer from Northern Nigeria. Called to the Bar. History made," he wrote.
The achievement has been widely celebrated as a significant step forward for disability inclusion and representation in Nigeria's legal profession.
