“After being released by Sheffield at 23, I worked in a factory, lifting heavy molds all day before going to training without eating.
Halifax offered me £250 a week, so I took a gamble on football. A year later, Fleetwood signed me
That decision changed my life.”

🛑🇧🇫- Captain Ibrahim Traore on why the government wants to control the flow of international students.
He said they are currently counting the number of Burkinabè students who are studying overseas. Out of 1000 students in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, over 800 of them left the country without the government knowing.
Our embassy over there has no record of them. And guess what those 800 people are studying? Charia law and Islamic laws and none of them is learning a trade.
So, he asked: where are they intending to apply those laws? In Burkina Faso 🇧🇫? Not here. Captain said he is going to bring them back home, and if they refuse, then they are no longer Burkinabè.
Will your country ever address this? Radical islam is a cancer that needs to be addressed. If we pretend as if it’s not a threat to Africa, we are just fooling ourselves. Terrorism started with them. Remember, the imperialists are always using religion and ethnicism to divide Africans.
Another productive week focused on building partnerships, advancing implementation, and creating new opportunities across the arts, culture, tourism, and creative economy @Fmactce_Nigeria .
The work continues, and so does our commitment to delivering lasting impact.

A promotion is one of the most misunderstood events in corporate life. People treat it as a reward for the work they have already done. It is almost never that.
It is a bet on the work they think you will do next.
Those are completely different things, and confusing them quietly ends careers. The person who was excellent in their old role, gets promoted as a thank-you, and then drowns, is a cliche for a reason. They were paid for the past. The job was about the future.
I evaluated people for years, and the ones who kept rising understood this early. They stopped performing for last quarter's scoreboard and started, deliberately, looking like the person needed one level up. They took the ambiguous problems nobody owned. They made their bosses' problems their problems. They were, in effect, auditioning for a role they did not yet have.
The ones who stalled were often the more talented individual contributors, who kept getting better at the job they were already in, then felt personally betrayed when someone 'less deserving' moved past them.
Here is the cold mechanics of it. Nobody promotes you to reward you. Organisations are not gratitude machines. They promote you because they have concluded you are already carrying more than your title, and making it official is cheaper than losing you.
So if you want the next level, stop building a better case for the work you did. Start quietly doing a version of the job you want before anyone gives it to you. The title tends to arrive after the responsibility, not before it.
Most people wait to be handed the role. The ones who get it were already doing it for free.
Something I learned interviewing candidates for years.
The ones who impressed me were rarely the most technical. They were the clearest.
A brilliant person who cannot make me understand them will lose to a good person who can. Every time.
If they cannot follow you, they do not conclude that you are deep. They conclude that you are confused.
Dumb it down. Optimise for the person across the table, not for your own ego.
This is not your PhD defence. It is a conversation. Win the conversation.
I interviewed people at Shell for years, and here is the quiet thing almost no one tells you.
You are not rated on results alone. You are rated on the how, not just the what.
Two engineers run two projects. Both fail to hit target. One gets sidelined. The other gets promoted. Same outcome, different fate.
The difference was never the result. It was behaviour. The one who won gave daily updates, pulled his bosses into the problem early, and ran a lessons-learned session when it was over.
He turned a failed project into proof that he was safe to bet on.
Deliver, yes. But learn to be seen delivering. In most rooms, that is the actual skill.
No, THANK YOU! Truly a honor to wear the 💜💛 while trying to continuing the greatness & legacies that came before me! Hope I made a few proud during my stint. 🙏🏾🫡👑
