SLM- Service Long March- A mockery of a book building process for retail investors

Hello Tweeps. Sharing my insights here on SLMs book building. The recent Book Building of SLM (Service Long March Tyres) can best be described as a mockery of the IPO process. Firstly, the company is only issuing 5% shares (292 mn shares) and secondly some Investors (banks, Mutual funds and a few others) were bidding without any margin (with potential bids of investors bidding 20mn or above shares being around 1.65bn shares (not backed by any amount but done presumably to pump up the price of the stock post listing) while others like retail investors, HNW investors were on the receiving end as they are the ones investing their own money while the Funds and or banks have public money.
As of right now 3.3bn worth of shares have already been bid so effectively 8.8% or lower will be the success rate. There needs to be an understanding that the rules of the game should be the same for everyone (every investor should place 100% margin or there should be 0 margin for everyone).
The fact that some investors are able to benefit more by putting up less should not be there to begin with. Also for companies doing IPOs there used to be a minimum requirement of 25% free float on IPO/ offer for sale which should be restored so managements don’t do these 5% or so exits/ IPOs to game the system.
The Entire Process seems to be a mockery of the IPO/ Book building process where the stock even after hitting the 40% max upside will see a few locks post listing due to this bidding frenzy.
There should be automatic Green Shoe options exercisable in these instances by the Secp or PSX (to increase liquidity and reduce the speculative interest) rather than the company else don’t let these listings come to the mkt where the public won’t get any shares! Also the public getting less than or around 8-9% of this issue won’t be able to make sizable gains so this IPO/ Book Building is much ado about Nothing! Do let me know your views?

Meray bhaiyyon, AI can help you research stocks and get quick insights for sure...

But if I knew a way to predict PSX using AI, I wouldn't be here but chilling on my own private island 😂
