Today I had a productive discussion with HE @MusaliaMudavadi the Kenyan prime cabinet secretary where I briefed on the plight of refugees in the region and thanked the government for the warm hospitality and the enabling environment for refugees to thrive.

Had a productive meeting with UNHCR Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Amb. @AMB_Affey, who called on my office today. We discussed refugee status in Kenya and ways to enhance cooperation with the UN. This is an important step towards ensuring the well-being and support for refugees in our country.

Kenya is now the second biggest refugee-hosting country in Africa after Ethiopia and we will continue to extend our hospitality to this vulnerable group.

Additionally, we will actively engage with our neighboring countries and contribute to peace building efforts, creating safer conditions for people to return home.

The only solution to the teacher crisis in North Eastern region is and remains the training and recruitment of local teachers. We can't expect anything good to come out of the xenophobic TSC. We in #WajirSouth have long recognised that. We are training hundreds of our own.
