📌A Lifetime of Advice

“My brother and sister, after spending sixty years in this world, most of them in the pursuit of knowledge, this is the most important advice I learned from knowledge and from life’s experiences:

If you act upon this advice, then do not worry about what you miss from this world:

اهتم بمن أنت عند الله، واحرص على أن تكون كما يريد الله أن تكون.
Care about who you are in the sight of Allah, and strive to be the person Allah wants you to be.

“A sin committed in the Haram, a sin committed in Ramadan, and a sin committed during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are graver in sin than sins committed at other times.”

Abdullah Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) Narrated, The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved (or more virtuous) to Allah than these ten days.”
They asked: “Not even Jihad?”
He said: “Not even Jihad, except for a man who goes out risking his life and wealth and returns with nothing.”

Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) Narrated, that the Prophet ﷺ said:

“When the first ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) begin, and a person has a sacrificial animal and intends to offer a sacrifice (udhiyah), then he should not cut any hair nor trim any nails.”

أتينا أنس بن مالك، فشكونا إليه ما يلقون من الحَجّاج، فقال: اصبروا، فإنه لا يأتي عليكم زمان إلا الذي بعده شر منه، حتى تلقوا ربكم، سمعته من نبيكم ﷺ
