There is little choice left for the people of Pakistan.

Either remain silent while their chosen leader is imprisoned. Whilst his family is detained, his party is suppressed and justice is denied - or come out peacefully and exercise their fundamental right to protest.

You can arrest families and threaten people with violence. But you cannot imprison 250 million Pakistanis or crush the will of a generation.

No regime is more powerful than its people. The world must watch as the people of Pakistan come together to demonstrate their plea for justice, even in the face of threats of violence.

Inshallah, Pakistan’s future will be decided by its people, not by criminals who rule through fear.

A peaceful protest is set to take place on the 27th. Yet the military plan to use it to make an example of anyone questioning their rule. They are planning a bloodbath.

I commend the brave souls who stand up for their country against this tyrannical regime.

Inshallah the rest of the world will speak up soon. I just pray it doesn’t take an atrocity to make them see how bad things are.

“Never in the history of Pakistan has any political leader been subjected to the treatment that I am currently enduring. Nawaz Sharif committed corruption worth billions and was nevertheless granted every possible comfort in prison. In contrast, never before has the innocent and apolitical spouse of a political figure been imprisoned under such inhumane conditions as those imposed upon Bushra Bibi.

I am enduring the harshest prison term in the country’s history solely for the supremacy of the Constitution and in service of my nation. The level of oppression and authoritarianism is such that even the water I have for ablution is filthy and contaminated with dirt, unfit for any human being. Books sent to me by my family have been withheld for months. Access to television and newspapers has also been suspended. I have spent countless hours re-reading the same old books, but now even those are no longer available.

All my basic human rights have been violated. Even the minimum facilities accorded to ordinary prisoners under the law and the jail manual are denied to me. Despite repeated requests, I have not been allowed to speak to my children. Political meetings have also been restricted; I am only permitted to meet certain ‘choice individuals’, while all other interactions are barred.

I am waging a battle against a 78-year-old system, and my greatest success is that despite unprecedented oppression, the public stands firmly with me.

On February 8th (2024), the people expressed their trust in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf by voting for you even in the absence of an electoral symbol. After such a clear mandate, it is the moral and political responsibility of every party member to become the voice of the people. It will be nothing short of disgraceful and condemnable if PTI leaders waste time on internal conflicts at this critical juncture. Anyone found engaging in factionalism within the party will be expelled. I am fighting for the future of our generations, and every sacrifice I make is for that cause. To create rifts within the party at this time would be a direct betrayal of my mission and vision.

The so-called government formed through Form 47 has crippled the judiciary through the 26th Constitutional Amendment. The way biased judges are now delivering blatantly unjust verdicts under these courts is visible to the entire nation. We must launch a robust campaign to liberate the judiciary, for no nation can survive, let alone progress, without judicial independence.”

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Punjab on Sunday strongly condemned the reported arrest of Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, and alleged that party workers were also being arrested in large numbers.

“The party strongly condemns the arrest of Aleema,” the PTI Central Punjab spokesperson said. He also alleged that a large number of PTI workers were being detained as part of a crackdown on the party.

This is a disgrace.

Now my Aunts Dr. Uzma and Noureen, along with my cousins Shershah and Shahrez have now been abducted as well.

They have broken into my aunties and cousins houses and forced them
into vehicles with no explanation.

No reasons for arrest have been stated.

No news has been released as to where they have been taken.

This is criminal behaviour. Inexcusable. The Pakistani people are petrified of their own leaders.

No upstanding nation should tolerate this criminal establishment. Intervention is now imperative.

کسی بھی شہری کو گرفتار کرنا ہو تو ریاست پر لازم ہے کہ گرفتاری کی واضح قانونی بنیاد، مقدمے کی تفصیلات اور متعلقہ الزامات فوری طور پر اس شخص، اس کے اہلِ خانہ اور وکیل کو فراہم کرے۔ گرفتار فرد کو قانونی معاونت، اہلِ خانہ سے رابطے اور مقررہ آئینی مدت کے اندر مجاز عدالت میں پیشی کا مکمل حق حاصل ہے۔

سیاسی وابستگی، خاندانی تعلق یا پُرامن سیاسی سرگرمی کسی شہری کے بنیادی حقوق محدود کرنے کا جواز نہیں بن سکتی۔ گرفتاریوں کو سیاسی دباؤ، اختلافِ رائے دبانے یا آئندہ پُرامن احتجاج روکنے کے لیے استعمال کرنے کا تاثر ملک میں قانون کی حکمرانی اور جمہوری اقدار کو نقصان پہنچاتا ہے۔

ہیومن رائٹس کونسل آف پاکستان مطالبہ کرتی ہے کہ:

علیمہ خان کی گرفتاری کی قانونی وجوہات اور ایف آئی آر کی تفصیلات فوری طور پر منظرِعام پر لائی جائیں۔

انہیں وکیل اور اہلِ خانہ تک بلا تاخیر رسائی دی جائے۔

انہیں قانون کے مطابق مقررہ مدت میں عدالت کے سامنے پیش کیا جائے۔

اگر ان کے خلاف کوئی قابلِ جواز اور قانونی مقدمہ موجود نہیں تو انہیں فوری رہا کیا جائے۔

پُرامن سیاسی سرگرمی، اظہارِ رائے اور اجتماع کی آئینی آزادی کا احترام کیا جائے۔

قانون سب کے لیے برابر ہونا چاہیے اور ہر کارروائی شفاف، منصفانہ اور آئینِ پاکستان کے مطابق ہونی چاہیے۔
