Wendy Becker is a faculty member at the Rhode Island College School of Social Work where she has taught since 1999. She has a PhD in Law and Policy from Northeastern University, an MSW from Boston University, and an undergraduate degree from Brown University.

Wendy was a social worker prior and during her teaching career, focusing on clinical work and social justice policy advocacy. She has spent decades organizing on policy change at the RI statehouse, including work focused on social and economic justice and LGBTQ liberation and equity. She is the founding Executive Director of Youth Pride.
