It's the best of all worlds in many ways.

Hikes, farms, no city rules, etc -- but always a fairly short drive to a good croissant, places with "energy," Trader Joes, Amtrak etc.

I was today years old when I learned that most school districts don’t close for Jewish holidays and that the one I attended growing up in Maryland was one of the few that did.

Some from Nangarhar are a bit more SA-shifted from mixing w/Dards, but even they’re still genetically closer to Tajiks of Kabul, Panjshir, Parwan, and Kapisa than to any ethnic group from South Asia.

@NRFForum @zeeewarddd This makes no sense. There is nothing significant that geographically divides Pashtun-inhabited regions of Afghanistan from other parts of Afghanistan. If anything, Tajiks and Turkic groups had far more cultural contact and exchange with South Asians.

@andfogle Forgot to mention Dearborn in Michigan as well. The home prices there are going bonkers recently and have become comparable to even some wealthy Detroit suburbs like Grosse Pointe because a lot of Arabs want to live there and replacing modest homes with mansions.

@andfogle Oh yeah, for sure. This is extremely common in the Bay Area and in some parts of the DMV. Sunnyvale is the main town that comes to mind from CA. A lot of Loudoun County, VA & Howard County, MD fits the bill, too.
