VIDEO | A remarkable piece of heritage has been restored in Karnataka's Belagavi district. A 300-year-old stepwell, which had been buried under garbage and debris, has been brought back to life.

The 80-feet-deep stepwell, believed to have been built during the Adil Shahi dynasty between the 15th and 17th century, has now been fully restored by the Belagavi-based Pyaas Foundation with the support of NSS volunteers and local residents. It reveals 53 stone steps, and a unique layout that looks like a Shiva Lingam when viewed from above.

Nagpur Metro’s Cotton Market Station will open its second Entry/Exit along with a 120-meter Foot Over Bridge (FOB) for public use from 3rd July 2026.

This new facility will enhance passenger convenience, improve accessibility, and ensure safer pedestrian movement in the busy Cotton Market area. It will also help reduce congestion and provide seamless connectivity to key nearby landmarks.

Pune Metro Line 3 will become the city's first metro corridor to use the advanced 750V DC third-rail electrification system, a technology widely used in modern metro networks. The 23-km Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar corridor has completed end-to-end trial runs and is awaiting final statutory approvals before commercial operations begin. The line will also feature Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) for safer, high-frequency train operations. Once fully operational, the metro is expected to reduce travel time between Hinjawadi and Shivajinagar from around 90 minutes to nearly 45 minutes, providing faster, smoother, and more reliable public transport.
