1990. Road widening work uncovers petroglyphs at Nivli Fata, Ratnagiri.
Officials from the Directorate of Archaeology AND Archaeological Survey of India are immediately notified.
This becomes the first reported petroglyph site in Konkan.
Scholars rush in. Books are published. Comparisons drawn to Harappan civilization. An entire academic field of Konkan petroglyph studies is born from this one discovery.
The site itself?
Still half-buried under road construction. 36 years later.
Not neglected by accident.
Not lost to time.
Not awaiting discovery.
Reported to two official bodies in 1990.
Documented in RTI responses.
Still under asphalt.
We widened the road. ✅
We triggered an academic renaissance. ✅
We preserved the site that started it all. ❌
The first petroglyph that launched a thousand studies remains buried under the road we chose to finish.
Who decided tarmac matters more than the stone that rewrote Konkan's prehistory? 🛣️🪨
These are same ppl who try to go ahead cutin lane evn if it make a traffic jam, who throw garbage on road, who honk for no reason, who think about self first putting crowd in trouble, who blames others for shit they themselves created. Won't follow rules if no one to punish.
Many cars had pulled over on the 'Missing Link' cable bridge for photos and views. This needs to be stopped immediately!
This presents a serious traffic risk.
MH police need to crackdown on this fast before it becomes a trend.

The only young people I see who are buying expensive cars, homes etc and dedicating it to their erstwhile poor parents, are Instagram influencers & IPL Cricketers.
Everyone else is dealing with delayed gratification. By the time you succeed, it doesn’t mean much.
We need prominent signs at all airports (and announcements in flights) about NOT USING MOBILE PHONES IN SPEAKER MODE (for calls, watching videos, etc.) in waiting areas, in planes... basically in any public area.

Need a public campaign for this
....should be extended for all public transit (railways and bus too).
There is an invisible layer that affects many friendships in Bengaluru.
That layer is called urban and civic exhaustion.
Friendships don’t fade because people don’t care. They fade because the city quietly drains the energy required to sustain them.
The traffic takes an hour out of your evening. Work spills into what used to be personal time. Weekends become recovery periods rather than social ones.
You start saying things like:
“Let’s meet soon.”
“Next week for sure.”
“Once things settle down.”
Things rarely settle down.
What earlier required a 10 minute auto ride now requires planning, coordination, and stamina. You have to build stamina to be rejected by drivers on apps, to cross under constructed sites, to take long jumps over open drainages and collect dust on your face.
Friendships slowly move from physical spaces to WhatsApp reactions and Instagram replies.
The affection is still there. The intent is still there.
But the civic friction of the city sits between people.
In cities like Bengaluru, maintaining friendships has quietly become an act of effort. And sometimes, effort is the first casualty of urban and civic exhaustion.
Why? GANESH is bachelor in South but has 2wives upnorth [ Siddhi/Buddhi] Karthrikeya batchelor in north but has 2wives in south [ Valli-Devyanai] --why ? RT
A friend of mine is planning a year-end reunion of his entire extended family. Four generations. From elderly uncles to toddlers, and even married daughters flying in with their families.
He told that it’s an annual affair for them. I asked, “Who pays for such a big get-together?”
He said, “My grandfather.”
“But your grandfather passed away long ago.”
He explained that his grandfather had set aside a sizeable fixed deposit with a condition in his will that every year the family must meet, and the expenses will be covered from the interest earned on the FD.
Imagine that. Years after he’s gone, he’s still investing in keeping his family together.
@theskindoctor13 Why should we give up a trophy just because Pakistan is playing? We defeated them on the battefield now we will do it on the field. The government is correct on this, no bilateral but we will not let Pakistan ruin our cricket.
90s parents had a peculiar humble brag about their kids. Whenever they would meet other parents they would say with a fake concern:
“Humara ladka ko din bhar Discovery channel dekhta rehta hai”
I have met people whose life is like a worst of nightmare coming true. They look good, healthy but their struggle is real. But they stick to dharma, in whatever way possible. May be in the next birth, they would do better. They will find their ishta, their guru timely. All they can hope for Devanugrah. 🌸🌸🌸🙏🏻🙏🏻
