Actor Imran Khan asked to leave India by October 28
Mumbai Police have issued a Leave India Notice (LIN) to Bollywood actor Imran Khan (nephew of Aamir Khan), directing him to leave the country by October 28. The action follows his participation in an anti-CEC protest in Mumbai.
Background of the protest and detention
On October 10, 2026, Imran Khan joined a demonstration at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan. The protest, linked to the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and held under the banner of groups such as “Hum Bharat Ke Log,” demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Permission had reportedly not been granted for the gathering.
Mumbai Police detained Imran Khan during the protest, along with his partner, actor Lekha Washington, and cousin Zayn Marie Khan. Hundreds of others were also detained. After his release, Imran posted from a police van with the caption “Apparently, I am going for a drive.” He told reporters he had no specific demands, was not representing any organisation, and was present as a Mumbai resident questioning restrictions on movement and the suppression of voices.
Citizenship status and official action
Imran Khan holds US citizenship (he was born in Wisconsin) and is reported to use an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card to live and work in India. Mumbai Police stated that action was initiated under relevant provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, because he participated in the protest despite not being an Indian citizen. The Leave India Notice requires him to exit the country by October 28.
Role of Kirit Somaiya
BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya raised the issue after the detention. He wrote to Mumbai Police and later (on October 13) to Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, describing Imran as a “foreign citizen.” Somaiya sought an inquiry, additional charges related to OCI/visa conditions, a Look Out Circular (LOC) to prevent him from leaving while investigations were pending, and his deportation for participating in an unauthorised political protest. Police forwarded the representation to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). Gamdevi Police had also registered FIR No. 813/2026 in connection with the protest, naming Imran.
Summary from the original report
The Inshorts item (sourced from Daisy Mowke on X) accurately summarised these developments: Mumbai Police asked the US-citizen actor to leave by October 28 over the anti-CEC/CJP protest participation; Kirit Somaiya had earlier complained that Imran was a foreign citizen and called for deportation; and the actor had been detained during the Mumbai protest.
This remains a developing story, with reports citing police statements and the notice. Imran Khan has not issued a detailed public response to the Leave India Notice in the coverage available as of October 15, 2026.

Robot sexually harasses 16-year-old girl in Germany (Cologne)
A red-and-gold humanoid robot (about 1.20 m / 4 ft tall, styled like Iron Man and dressed in a white tank top, black pants, thick gold chain, and sunglasses) was seized by Cologne police after it allegedly sexually harassed a 16-year-old girl. The incident occurred in the night from Saturday to Sunday, 10–11 October 2026, shortly before midnight, outside a fast-food restaurant at the corner of Palmstraße and Hohenzollernring on the Kölner Ringe.
The girl was standing with two friends (aged 17 and 18) when the robot approached her from behind. According to police, it touched her on the buttocks and performed thrusting movements (“Stoßbewegungen”) against her. The 16-year-old owner of the robot (from Wegberg) and his 19-year-old companion allegedly filmed the incident, livestreamed it on social media (with commentary), and moderated the stream.
Police were alerted and quickly located the suspects nearby at the corner of Magnusstraße and Hohenzollernring. They found the robot stashed in the trunk of a Volkswagen, where the 16-year-old owner had put it. Officers seized the robot and two mobile phones belonging to the suspects.
Cologne Criminal Police are investigating on suspicion of sexual insult (“Beleidigung auf sexueller Grundlage”). A key question is whether the robot’s movements were deliberately controlled or programmed by the two young men, or whether it acted more autonomously. The manufacturer (consistent with Unitree-style humanoids in the ~€5,000 range) markets such robots as able to operate independently while also allowing users to teach movements by demonstration. Videos of the scene have circulated on TikTok and elsewhere; one short clip has been used to claim an accidental collision, while longer footage reportedly shows the thrusting and sexual motions after contact. The area is covered by police cameras, and investigators are reviewing that footage as well.
The image in the Inshorts post shows the seized robot lying on its back with arms outstretched in its casual “street” outfit. This is an unusual case involving a consumer-grade humanoid robot, live social-media streaming, and allegations of sexual harassment, with the investigation still focused on the degree of human control.

Something very serious happened today

Today, my parents drove around 25 km to a temple when they started noticing the smell of petrol inside the car. My father checked under the bonnet but couldn’t find anything unusual. During the journey, several people alerted them by shouting that petrol was leaking from the car.

They didn’t ignore the warning signs; the leak simply wasn’t visible during the drive. But once the car stopped at the temple, petrol started dripping heavily, and they realised how serious the situation was.

It was around 7 AM, and no mechanic was available nearby. With no immediate assistance, they had to drive another 25 km back towards home to find a mechanic, despite the risk of driving with a petrol leak.

The mechanic eventually discovered that a rat had chewed through the petrol pipe underneath the car.

Just imagine how dangerous this could have been. One damaged pipe, two parents travelling in a car, and a situation that could have turned into a major disaster.

A reminder to all car owners: rodent damage can be more dangerous than we realise. Please take it seriously.

Rest in Peace, RJ Mitte. 💔
The Breaking Bad actor who portrayed Walter “Flynn” White Jr. across all five seasons has passed away at the age of 34. He died Monday, October 12, 2026, in Brownsville, Texas.
RJ (Roy Frank Mitte III) brought genuine authenticity to the role, drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy (diagnosed at age 3). Beyond the show, he was a dedicated disability rights advocate, ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, and president of The Mitte Foundation. He used his platform to challenge stereotypes and push for greater representation of people with disabilities in media and society.
His reps shared: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist and passionate disability rights advocate R.J. Mitte.” They asked that people respect the privacy of his family and loved ones.
Our thoughts are with his fiancée, family, friends, and the Breaking Bad cast and crew. Thank you for the heart you brought to Flynn and the awareness you raised for so many.
