2024 Sports in Kansas 3A 🥎 Player of the Year: Abi Beaman of Frontenac. Beaman, a four time 3A all-state selection, led Frontenac to their second title in three seasons and finished with a .535 average (.921 slugging %) with 54 hits, 13 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 51 RBI. Beaman had 161 hits in her career which will go down as one of the best careers in 3A history. She also hit a home run in the state title game, where the Raiders beat Silver Lake, 3-0. SL had defeated the 6A champs ONW and split with the 4A champs Wamego this season. Frontenac played one of the best schedules in the state that saw two out of state champs including 7A Bentonville Arkansas, one of the Raiders two losses. Head coach Cassie Rhuems has led the Raiders to four state titles since the 2016 season, including a 28-2 record in 2024. Rhuems was named 3A and all classes COY from SIK. Beaman becomes the third Raider to win this award with Karma Fields (2019) & Heather Arnett (2022). Arnett now an All-American and MIAA POY while Fields is also one of the best D2 players in the country. Beaman will play at Avila next season. #sportsinkansas

Two of the best in 3A: Abi Beaman (left) is having an incredible year for the state bound Frontenac Raiders. .539 average, .946 slugging, 49 RBI, 13 doubles, 4 triples, 5 HR, 52 hits. Avery Johnson, a junior pitcher (right), hitting .484, .714 slugging, 44 hits, 3 HR, 32 RBI, 151 innings pitched, .132 opponent batting average, 204 strikeouts this season. Both also hit home runs today in the semifinal against Baxter while teammate Annie Lee also homered against Columbus in the title game. #sportsinkansas
