International students provide long-term social, cultural, and economic benefits to Canada.

Through #FES2023, international students will be protected through an enhanced Letter of Acceptance verification tool to help crack down on fraudulent organizations.

The government is also working with provinces, territories and post-secondary designated institutions to implement a Recognized Institutions Framework that would reward institutions with high standards for selecting, supporting, and retaining international students – including providing access to housing.

Additional details on these measures to help protect international students will be provided in the coming months.
