I do not know what that Netflix Lamarr Odom documentary was, but he didn't come across as a likeable person at all. In fact, he came across as someone that lacked depth and accountability. Anyone else seen the documentary?
@Mochievous@engineering_bae Atlas Mountains but honestly, Iceland is beautiful. It's been 18 months and l can't wait to go back. Seeing the Northern Lights will never not be amazing.
The German series on Netflix #UNFAMILIAR is very good. It's a spy thriller about a spy couple that got reactivated and have to protect their family. It sounds cliched, but there are quite a few subplots that make the series work well. Do check it out
PSA: If you live in the UK you can get a library card with which you can get a PressReader account that gives you free access to all national and many international newspapers, magazines, and so on. Many people have totally given up on the mainstream news, understandably, but it’s good to check in once in a while and there’s no need to pay because you already did through taxes. In short, join your library and use it because libraries are awesome.
@ronkelawal Mentally, survivor's guilt is a thing. Also, how do you pick up after such an awful, awful thing that happened in full glare of the world? He won't be able to heal or grieve privately. Also, you just know that the world won't let him forget. Every interview will reference it
Rest in peace to Dr Aggrey Burke, the NHS’ first Black consultant psychiatrist.
Here's a very good piece from 2022 which maps out his life and formidable career.
A truly significant figure in Black British history who deserves continued recognition.

@aikodionn Yes, his books are exquisitely written. He started out as a medical doctor and quit to writing full time. The way he writes about Afghanistan is equal parts pain, beauty and loss. So much potential, now reduced to nothing. If you haven't, do try Francine Rivers' Redeeming Love.
When you've been working all day and tech has been teching and you get that Stripe notification and all you can say is God, thank You. All that effort has not been in vain. As you were.
#TheStringer is now available on Netflix. It's a documentary (I love documentaries) about the real photographer that took the picture of the burning girl during the Vietnam war. Insightful stuff. Watch it if you can.
