🚨 New work in #OpenAcces! 🚨
Our #dentalmicrowear study on cave bears (Ursus spelaeus) shows they had locally adapted, flexible foraging strategies in SE Europe during late MIS 3. 🐻🌿
Shedding light on their ecology & extinction.

🆕I started this research during my PhD, continued it in my postdoc, and now, almost a year later, it's finally coming to light! #OpenAccess thanks to @UNALOficial@ABiLis_Lab@iphes
8 days ago our @ABiLis_Lab@iphes was celebrating because @CriMiSan91 defended his thesis. A thesis co-supervised by #FRivals and #RBlasco, the jury was composed of @arb_rufi @Edgard_Camaros and #FRomagnoli surely this will be the first step of a brilliant research career! 🥳
Today, I have had the privilege to be a member of the jury at the PhD defence of @CriMiSan91, from @universitatURV@iphes. His thesis is proof of his dedication and the hard work done. It also shows the potential of works on teeth! I wish him the best success for the future.
🚨 New paper out! Exploring dietary adaptations of Odocoileus virginianus across diverse American biomes using dental wear & morphometrics! Key insights into ancient ecosystems & neotropical cervid evolution. 🦌#NeotropicalCervids#Americas@AnaGaln#Rivals@ABiLis_Lab@iphes
Thrilled to return to my alma mater @UNALOficial as a professor and dive back into studying the same deer from my master’s thesis—talk about coming full circle! 😃🦌🌿🇨🇴
🔊 Hoy Iván Ramírez Pedraza (@ivrmpdrz) ha defendido la tesis doctoral "Multiproxy Reconstruction of the Ecological Context of the Plio-Pleistocene Transition and Early Middle Pleistocene in Morocco"
¡Felicidades doctor! 🎉

The palaeoenvironmental context for hominins in Plio-Pleistocene northern Africa is poorly documented. Ramírez-Pedraza et al. present multi-proxy palaeoecological evidence for heterogeneous open grasslands, forested areas, wetlands, & seasonal aridity.

New Publication Alert 🚨in @NatureComms led by @ivrmpdrz 🥳
We reconstructed the palaeoenvironment of hominins at the Guefaït-4 fossil site in eastern Morocco, dating to the Plio-Pleistocene transition (2.44 million years ago). @MPI_GEA
