You still have to explain how simple addition yields the fractions, even the double data representation is accurate for numbers larger than the global population.
A standard 64-bit double-precision floating-point number loses the ability to represent every consecutive integer once it exceeds (2^{53}), which is exactly (9,007,199,254,740,992)
@beespattered@risin50578@Real_RobN That's a total assumption, there are many precise numeric formats used in computers, even existed back in the COBOL days (yes, I was there)
@beespattered@risin50578@Real_RobN Someone failed to accurately record a vote, or the voter left an item blank.
You are disqualified from ever working as an election tally agent.
@beespattered@risin50578@Real_RobN Math for dummy:
0 + 1 = 1
1 + 1 =2
2 + 1 = 3 (and so on)
No rounding is possible ( or necessary ) using entirely whole numbers
@docpjo@Real_RobN I do not trust a single sole involved in the process, that is why I would like to see machine counting with the issuance of a receipt that can be directly tied to the data stored in the counting system. No public view into the data is why fraud can be so hard to detect.
That's why a paper receipt with the UID (record ID). You verify the receipt is what you selected before committing the ballot. The receipt can later be used to verify the information was not altered during or after storage.
The paper receipt with the UID is the key to allowing us to check the integrity of the system.
@gingasnapninja@Real_RobN This is why I stated a printed receipt with the UID that can be used to verify the data at a later date. The UID links the receipt to the recorded data, not you directly, unless you decide to contest the difference between the receipt and the stored data.
@HawkinsonLindy@Real_RobN that's why I suggest the receipt showing the vote and the voter approving or rejecting it. The same principal should be used with the electronic tabulators used for paper ballots.
I have zero trust in the machines just like the government has zero trust in us.
@SenSanders Can you say a single sentence without using "oligarch" you have so worn out the word, that it literally has no credibility/meaning anymore.
