At 11 AM tomorrow, 17th September, I will inaugurate Phase-1 of Yashobhoomi, a state-of-the-art and modern convention and expo centre in Dwarka, Delhi. I am confident this will be a very sought after destination for conferences and meetings. It will draw delegates from all around the world.

You all will also be happy to know that Yashobhoomi is also going to be synonymous with sustainability. It has a modern wastewater treatment system, there are provisions for rainwater harvesting and the complex has received Platinum certification from Indian Green Building Council. A new Metro station, ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ will also be inaugurated thus linking this iconic venue with the Delhi Metro Airport Express. https://t.co/P1iDEDOv61

Chandrayaan-3 Mission:
🇮🇳Vikram soft-landed on 🌖, again!

Vikram Lander exceeded its mission objectives. It successfully underwent a hop experiment.

On command, it fired the engines, elevated itself by about 40 cm as expected and landed safely at a distance of 30 – 40 cm away.

Importance?: This 'kick-start' enthuses future sample return and human missions!

All systems performed nominally and are healthy. Deployed Ramp, ChaSTE and ILSA were folded back and redeployed successfully after the experiment.

We are hours away from the launch of Aditya-L1, India's first space-based solar observatory. 🇮🇳
It is also going to be ISRO's first mission to the L1 point!

That's right, unlike what you may have seen in the media, Aditya-L1 is NOT headed to the Sun. ☀️
Instead, it is going to a region in space called the Lagrange 1 or L1 point (that's why it is called Aditya-𝗟𝟭), which is only 1% of the distance to the Sun away from Earth!

Even then, it is roughly 15 lakh km away from the Earth, about 4 times the distance to the Moon! 🌖

The reason it is going to the L1 point is because at that distance, the gravity of the Earth and that of the Sun cancel each other out! This means the spacecraft won't have to orbit the Earth and can just sit in a "halo orbit" around the L1 point, allowing it to continuously observe the Sun!

All set to initiate the Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS).
Awaiting the arrival of Lander Module (LM) at the designated point, around 17:44 Hrs. IST.

Upon receiving the ALS command, the LM activates the throttleable engines for powered descent.
The mission operations team will keep confirming the sequential execution of commands.

The live telecast of operations at MOX begins at 17:20 Hrs. IST
