@CptHastings1916 I don’t think it’s that so much that a person might be very nice in person but as a politician they’re still trying to restrict people’s rights. The former doesn’t mitigate the latter.
@Jametwonk@jakonian The thing is it’s a bit different with politicians because their views translate into actions. She might have been a lovely person but she also sought, sometimes successfully, to restrict people’s rights.
@ManySuchCases He wasn’t celebrating her murder, it was written before that. But she did try and stop you from marrying along with other rights you’ve enjoyed.

@llggeorgia@unherd So then to be consistent with her spirit, people can express shock at her death whilst expressing their firm commitment to the idea that her views and actions were toxic and harmful.
