We are pleased to announce Julia Ugras (@julia_ugras) as the recipient of the third, annual Seth Boyer Award for Excellence in Research. Julia was selected for her commitment to her science, collaborative spirit, and generosity. These are characteristics Seth brought to every challenge he confronted. This year was extra special, as Seth’s parents joined us in honoring Seth and reflecting on his memory.
We are delighted to present the second, annual Seth Boyer Award for Excellence in Research to Dr. Megan Radyk (@radykm) for her mentorship, tireless work ethic, teamwork, and selflessness. These are characteristics Seth brought to every challenge he confronted, and we used this opportunity to reflect on his memory.
Commemorating the first, annual Seth Boyer Award for Excellence in Research, in memory of Seth, a @UMPhysiology student in the lab. Seth was an extremely bright, hard-working, thoughtful, diligent scientist. He never backed down from a challenge and made important contributions to our understanding of pancreatic cancer*.
In his memory, we have established this award, whose inaugural recipient is Damien Sutton. Damien embodies those characteristics of excellence that we knew and loved in Seth. May this award be a testament to the awesome scientist, colleague and friend he was.
