Hasan Piker discussing the broader issue with the sexual crimes committed at Cornell University and living under a patriarchal society:
"The systemic problem in college campuses, as well as other institutions beyond college, in the workplace and whatnot, is that sexual violence rarely gets the sufficient accountability. It's bad when the victims are men because there's also an additional layer of shame involved in it. It's more common and horribly treated if the victims are women.
You know what this reminds me of, which is another women's health-related issue? Abortions. We make it virtually illegal, and in some instances, literally illegal to have abortions and then we don't even take any of the sufficient precautions to lower the likelihood of abortions even happening like proper sex-ed, offering contraceptives and the like. So the result is women get punished. This is a form of structural violence. It is a form of structural violence born out of the patriarchal constructs that we live under."
And btw The DA reopening the Cornell case isn’t a noble thing.
They are feeling pressure from the masses.
If they were noble, those fucking rapists would’ve been criminally charged in 2024.
Fuck Cornell.
Florence Pugh calls on more men to speak out against violence on women in response to the Cornell University group sexual assault case:
“This is really the moment where we need our men to be as horrified and as sickened as us. You need to be leading conversations about how we change the allowance and complicity of this behaviour as much as we are. How can you expect us to trust that it's "not all men" when in moments like this, many of you stay quiet?”
morgan wallen had a crash out where he used racial slurs against black people and venues still allow him to perform. kanye west praised nazis, said slavery is a choice and venues allow him to tour. chris brown is always beating women and he's being allowed to perfom...
The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel. To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect. Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life.
This merger has real consequences for real people, and for the entire country. Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle’s business built on data, surveillance technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.
so blade never got off the ground, ironheart never got the respect it deserved. anthony mackie isn’t being pushed as our actual captain america, and kevin feige decides to pull the plug on wonderman— alrighty then
9 democrats voted no as well. As much as we hate conservatives it’s important to remember both parties are corrupted by filth and full of depraved people.
When Charlie Kirk was killed, people said he was a father taken who didn’t deserve to be murdered for doing what they love etc.
This week, two unarmed, undocumented fathers were killed by ICE
Where’s that same outrage? Does our humanity end at immigration status?
