@Socphysio I have now seen atleast two cases of Herbal medicine/ Green tea intake induced acute hepatitis.
Both the patients were super health conscious and didn't consume any alcohol.

Just following from Claudia's post. Another massive issue affecting Sports professionals. Shocking!
Sport should bring people together rather than divide them.
@ChristinePlat18 Don't know if there are resources to educate the entire team (coach, chef, athletes) about the potential prohibited substances which might be found in the local produce or to avoid certain 'local delicacies' just in case they contain a prohibited item.
@GordonIrvine14 I agree. It's even more dangerous when we deal with different professionals and patients/athletes leave feedback on the website. Although a good resource, one does run the risk of compromising patient confidentiality.

When athletes post their views on Social Media! Posting a personal opinion about a coach or another athlete, if inappropriate, can be classed as an offence and lead to suspension. I feel one has to be extra careful of what they post on social media.

Another interesting link on the same website from Christine's earlier post. 9 years between the race and the athlete being awarded the silver medal. Most athletes would compete in 1-2 Olympics in their lifetime and train for years for 'one event'!
@GordonIrvine14@ChristinePlat18 Very interesting read. I was trying to read around teams taking their own Chefs and Dieticians with them. Guess if you are buying fresh fruit and Veg and Meat one has to be extra careful in making sure that it doesn't contain any prohibited substances.

Another blog which promotes playing multiple sports rather than just one.
Particularly liked this point -
"Lets kids enjoy playing for the sake of the game, rather than focusing only on winning"
@ChristinePlat18 I believe anything said without fact finding is 'Gossip' and it can be damaging to a lot of people, especially to the athlete. Unsure if once thing has been incorrectly perceived by the public, it can actually impact the decision making process too!
Electronic patient data record. Technology is not 100% foolproof and incidents like this do happen. But guess hard copy of the consultations might be even worst to police.

Found this interesting article comparing PRP vs Protolotherapy for SI joint dysfunction.
I did prolotherapy for an athlete who has had multiple injections in the past.
Please share your experiences.

Find it really interesting when athletes/sports celebrities post the pictures of their scans. Andy Murray with his resurfaced hip. Can have impact on 'social media and patient's confidentiality'

Andy Murray checks in on social media after hip surgery:
"Hopefully that will be the end of my hip pain... I now have a metal hip as you can see."

Interesting article regarding patient Confidentiality in sports.
It says its over-emphasised but I think you can never be too cautious.
