Our colleague @CharlieGLusaka has written an essay about the practicalities of planning and running at-scale registration exercises in hard-to-reach places: https://t.co/pV5CFsIMLQ
Key ingredients included the Norwegians and the Bank having the guts to do on-budget support, early and tight grip on the cashbox, making the best of the legacy systems and muscle memory, and making payroll work respectably, early 2/2.
Case Study out from @WorldBank about progress, over 10 years, from minimal government operations #Somalia, to material education, health, security ++ service; the excellent Farahan M., my @Abyrint colleagues, @g_handley, Fiona Davies ++ feature 1/2
Just out, Building Governments from the Ground Up - case study by @blaircameron for @WorldBank about ten years of progress on practical government operations & service delivery in #Somalia, of wh @Abyrint are glad to have been, and continue to be, a part: https://t.co/mxA49nfbfZ
That’s one system used continuously for 13 years to support the @mohs_sl to:
· Make data-driven deployment and staffing decisions
· Enhance payroll integrity
Enabling the govt to keep collecting and managing HR data!
Since we conducted training in mid Jan, attendance reports have begun flooding in from across the country as administrators clear their reporting backlog
In 2024: This year, with @CorusIntl funding, we upgraded HRHSL to make sure it can continue working with new government payroll processes, made it simpler to use and trained healthcare administrators how to use it
In 2018, we digitised it - https://t.co/CbeQxesr2Z
In its first 6 months, HRHSL data saved the Government of Sierra Leone GBP£238,156 through the identification and removal of ‘ghost’ staff and sanctions against those with unapproved chronic absenteeism.
In 2011, we built Human Resources for Health Sierra Leone (HRHSL), an attendance monitoring system for the @mohs_sl to record and monitor the attendance of all 🇸🇱 #healthcare workers
At CGA Technologies, we build and maintain lasting #health#education and #socialprotection solutions for our clients.
Here’s a short story to illustrate what that means 🧵
Our colleague @CharlieGLusaka is representing @abyrint on the new @sp_convergence Standards Committee for #interoperability of key elements of social protection systems: common standards, taxonomies, and processes, will make it easier to get out, and accountfor, #money4thepoor.
Just 4 days to go until International Day of Identification. This year is extra special for #Somalia as we launch Somalia’s 1st national ID system. A historic step towards progress & greater inclusivity for all. 🇸🇴
#2023IdentityDay#Inclusivity
It is increasingly distastful, the excessive branding by donors, UN agencies and us in INGOs of everything from school bags to tents, shelter, latrines and health posts. Children in need should not have to advertise their donors.
The Central Bank of Somalia has launched another progressive milestone in its quest to transform the
financial sector of Somalia. As of 27th March 2023, the use of #IBAN across all transactions
going through the NPS have been successfully adopted by all banks in Somalia.
