Trump blocking traffic in Lancaster on a Sunday morning preventing people from getting to church is an interesting political choice. Just ended up directing traffic for 45 minutes outside my house.
@ElectProject In case you didn’t know One slight pedantic point about PA voting. We have psuedo early voting although data wise it all looks like mail. You can at many places walk into county office request a mail ballot and fill it out and turn it in there.
@stevemagness And the push is to ban or restrict kids. When often I find the students I teach are more reflective on this than adults. Real social harm being done. But banning kids isn’t going to address the issues.
@stevemagness So we say ban phones in school (an outright ban probably not good solution) vs something like regulating the companies in meaningful ways.
@stevemagness I think this frame though shows how part of it is a moral panic (full agree it’s an issue). We often frame it as “protect the kids.” And fixes are often focused on “kids” which is a key component of media moral panics, which blinds us to the better broader social fixes.
@BlackSmithIzzy @savthorpe In my religion at the end of every year we throw a party where we celebrate the ten richest people in the world. We give them trophies for winning at capitalism. Then we take all their money away and they have to start again.
The girls 4x800 takes 5th place at New Balance Nationals in a time of 9:07.66 to earn All-American status!! No other 4x800 relay team in league history has ever broke 9:10. These girls did it 3 times this year!!
The #PABudget is due on June 30th. We have an obligation to pass a moral budget that reflects the just economic power and sustainability we deserve. That's why we urged @PaSenate last week in Harrisburg to fund education, #WholeHomesRepair, #RaiseTheWage, and end preemption!
