@WhskyHawk@WrigleyHawkeye@tdorman I never argued that. But you claimed the anger was manufactured. The city is upset because they previously partnered with Hy-Vee to support that neighborhood with incentives. This time they left with no warning. The city argues Hy-Vee was not a good community partner here.
@WhskyHawk@WrigleyHawkeye@tdorman KCRG did a story on the buses and because of the routes and stops, it is not as easy as hop on the bus. It can be an hour or more between stops so a lot of waiting. You may get off work at 5 but the bus doesn’t come til 6. So yeah, an 8 hour shift turns into a 10-12 hour day.
@WhskyHawk@WrigleyHawkeye@tdorman And the anger is more that Hy-Vee didn’t really attempt to work with the city to keep it open - not that it is expected to run a charity.
@TLVersteegh@DemonAndy55@tdorman I’d challenge you to see how inefficient the buses are. Plan an hour each way to get to the grocery store and back (at minimum). And you can only go when the bus is running - work it into your job schedule. Buses help - but it is a huge step down for a high poverty area.
@DemonAndy55@tdorman First - it is an opinion piece. Second, the writer isn’t manufacturing the outrage from the city council and mayor. And yes - you may be in a food desert (guessing you are in a rural area) USDA defines it differently for urban and rural. many in urban don't have access to a car
This kid waited in the hot sun to meet a @Mets player for nearly 2 hrs. @Lindor12BC made time to make his day (along with a many others). The usher said he did that all the time. He is a true steward of the game and a deserving hero to fans. Jack also with that ball tonight.
@BillsBackersKC Driving down from Iowa tomorrow for my son’s first Bills game! Looking forward to celebrating with more Bills fans! This thread is helpful!
Thanks @JoshAllenQB for setting a great example for my son. He used his #BillsMafia themed birthday to raise money for charity instead of presents. So excited to take him to Bills-Chiefs game next week. https://t.co/bm5MqIYszl
@ahepker That warning in Iowa: “There is a TORNADO warning in your area. Open your camera app and be sure to grab a Busch light before seeking a good vantage point in your porch or garage. Don’t worry about damage, hundreds of complete strangers will come help clean it all up.”
@archer_freedom1@NicoleAgee@KCRG Or your response doesn’t deserve an answer. The more cases, the more likely someone will die (hence a mortality rate). But she didn’t even suggest that connection. She stated a fact and you skewed it to your purpose. Don’t hate the messenger.
