When I was at Palantir, we cleared the backlog of the UK’s NHS by deploying scalable tech that flagged obvious errors, like ultrasounds scheduled for pregnant patients in their 11th month. How is it possible there’s a US federal agency (GAO) that reports this massive waste every year, yet no one’s eliminated it?

Most of US gov still runs on Powerpoint and Excel. An engineering-first gov efficiency commission by @elonmusk could save trillions annually. Exciting possibilities ahead!

If you're building an AI startup, I'm begging you not to work on another image generation tool or LLM for middle class Americans. 'Competition is for losers' as @peterthiel said, find what nobody is working on. Look through the 280k+ datasets on https://t.co/FNm8Uwwl9H, imagine problems you could solve if you had a perfect function approximator for that data. That's what neural networks are at the end of the day.

How do we deploy projects beyond the @accelerate_sf hackathon so they can begin addressing challenges in SF?

Dozens of the best hackers in the city came together this Saturday to continue accelerating SF @NewtonSF_. Inspired by SF City Attorney @DavidChiu's speech, here’s what they built:

- Smart search engine for police body camera footage, allowing law enforcement to find insights quicker
- Automatic summaries of SF Supervisor meetings with keyword search, alerts, and vote tracking over time
- AI matching at-risk people to city services based on their unique situation and eligibilities
- Application for city planners to streamline the permit process

With continued effort, we will build SF into the most advanced city in America.
