Summary and score:
8/10
If you want a casual dark platformer then Well Dweller is certainly worth your time. Comparable to Ori in most aspects the game is highly enjoyable without the frustrating elements of Silksong.
Game length:
It took me around 15 hours to beat the game on normal. There are collectibles and even secret doors and abilities for collecting all the Trinkets (skills).
If you wanted to 100% and collect all the pages and ghosts then you could add a hour or two on top.
Boss fights:
There's approximately 10 boss fights in total, each one unique to the area or current story objective. The boss moves are nice and predictable, much like silksong but arguably easier.
Exploration:
The game does a good job of feeding you into the right areas, always providing you with an ability to reach new areas. I never got lost or needed to search high and low for the right pathway. There's even the option to buy map markers to simplify exploration.
Sound: The music compliments the game nicely with some areas having beautiful tracks such as GravenValley but others that are a little too quiet. Boss theme is good but possibly too repetitive. Generally sound is good.
Graphics:
Excellent all round. The backgrounds are well designed and beautiful on the eye. Character designs are tight. The switch from darker underground areas to vibrant stormy areas is perfect.
Can IGN just get together and give a mean score for Wolverine instead of countless countries. IGN Spain, IGN France, IGN Italia.. Turns metacritic into a joke
