India’s fight has become the world’s fight. India’s date is now the world’s date.
November 27, the day India launched the Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat campaign in 2024, is now the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage.
To the children, communities, faith leaders and especially our JRC partners who made this movement real on the ground, this is your moment.
With JRC partners having stopped and prevented 550,000+ child marriages across India, India has shown the world what collective action can achieve.
India showed the way. We did this together.

@Bhuwan_Ribhu
With November 27 now established as the #InternationalDayAgainstChildMarriage, the world has sent a clear message: child marriage can no longer be accepted as inevitable.
What began as a call led by our Founder, @Bhuwan_Ribhu , became a global movement through the collective resolve of Member States, governments, civil society organizations, child rights advocates, institutions, communities, and allies across the world.
We are grateful to the Member States that supported this landmark resolution and to every partner and ally whose leadership and sustained action helped turn a call into a global commitment.
This is the power of coalition leadership, uniting governments, institutions, civil society, and communities around a shared purpose: protecting every child and ensuring accountability for crimes against them.
Now, the International Day must translate recognition into decisive action, stronger accountability, effective implementation of laws, and coordinated global efforts to end child marriage.
The mission is clear: a #ChildMarriageFreeWorld by 2030.

@UN
With November 27 now established as the #InternationalDayAgainstChildMarriage, the world has sent a clear message to the millions of girls and women who were married as children: you are seen, your rights matter, and this crime must end.
This milestone grew from a call led by our Founder, @Bhuwan_Ribhu , and carried forward by a powerful movement of partners, governments, institutions, communities, and allies in India and across the world. We are grateful to every person who stood with this movement and helped take India’s resolve to end child marriage to the global stage.
The world has spoken: child marriage has no place in our future.
Our mission remains unchanged: a #ChildMarriageFreeWorld by 2030.
