During the celebration of the #GenderDay, African women stated their asks ahead of ACS2 & COP30. Giving up is never an option 🫶🌍
Imagine missing school because of your period.
Millions of girls and women, especially in conflict affected regions still face stigma, and the lack of pads & toilets forces them to stay home.
🏫 Education is a right and menstruation should never be a barrier.

Recap of an engaging and insightful session today on Gender Equality across the Central Africa region, led by the distinguished Professor Joyce Endeley. Her reflections on the progress of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA) highlighted both the strides we’ve made and the challenges we continue to face in advancing gender equality.
In her powerful words, she reminded us, ‘If you say you are a feminist and doing gender, read it well.’ She emphasized the importance of genuine understanding and action in the feminist movement.
Professor Endeley’s vision for the future is clear: ‘We want a society of justice, fairness, and equal opportunities.’ Her words echoed deeply with all of us, as she called for ongoing advocacy and engagement across all levels of society.
Finally, she affirmed the vibrancy of today’s feminist movements, stating, ‘The new feminist movement is one with passion, energy, sensitivity, and we are everywhere.’
Her session was an inspiring call to action for all participants, encouraging us to keep pushing forward for meaningful and lasting change.
