“Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action.” B.K.S. Iyengar
There are some diehard Trump fans in this country who thought India could still kiss and make up with America even after all that it did to us. We had invested 1 bn $ for a 100 Tejas GE -404 engines. After 4 years we got just 2.instead of cancelling the order all together we placed orders for 200 more such engines! Now we got the ultimate shock when USA killed the Plans for AMCA. Like ninnies we had designed this aircraft around the hopes of getting the GE414 engines. To KILL this program US just raised the price of this engine from Rs 70 crores each to Rs 200 Crores each. Its clear as daylight US does not want India to have its own Vth Gen Stealth fighters. It will Throw a fit if we buy and produce the SU-57 Russian stealth fighter in India or buy Russian or Iranian oil. It is time to tell the US to go to blazes. A number of countries in the world are coming to this sober conclusion ( including Europe, Canada and Japan). Its time for India to show some SPINE
Minister @DrSJaishankar this is a totally obnoxious . Why are we giving her a visa? This racist bigot keeps abusing India, our leaders, writing fake narratives. Please kick her out. @MEAIndia@republic@AmitShah
She has neither read nor understood anything about the Mahabharata if this her commentary. Caste, as she calls it, has relatively little to do with Karna's chosing of side. It was his desire for yashas, chip on his shoulder and arrogance. Suta, by the way, isn't just a charioteer, they are bards and keepers of lore as is Ugra Shravas, Vidura, Lomaharshana, Sanjaya and other major characters in the text.
As an aside, I wish there was a course on Mahabharata in JNU that made primary source reading mandatory.
Otherwise, the INDICA Master Class on Mahabharata is there. @dimplekaul_in
I am sure bigger things will happen as well.
Why wade into a debate without doing basic 'primary source' reading?
Vyasa says
1. Karna's father Adhiratha was Dhritarashtra's friend.
2. Karna joined Duryodhana much earlier, 'imbibed' all his hatred for Pandavas and was part of the gang that pushed Bheema into Ganga waters.
3. Karna was taught by Drona alongside Kauravas and Pandavas.
4. Karna was denied Brahmastra by Drona only because of his hatred for Arjuna and larger character.
Sutas were privileged and always worked alongside the Kshastriyas.
Uttaraa's mother was a Suta, and thus Kuruvamsha continues through the mixed lineage of Kuru, Yadu, Suta that immediately preceded through a Niyoga and much earlier in the lineage started from an Asura princess.
Purely from Mahabharata standpoint even this is not important. Karna's eternal drift is a Swadharma confusion leading to life's purpose getting reduced to an eternal false competition.
PS: The mental health of 500 people who liked this tweet ought to be investigated.

Ohh Audrey, this is sad, but typical of those who are “scholar-activists” rather than scholars…I didn’t call upon anyone to correct our wiki page, the literal founder of the platform, @lsanger did!
And you say that “academic consensus” says we’re part of a parivar, but then the only academic article you quote is one written by you! The others are such examples of scholarship as the Caravan & an anonymous anti-Hindu troll handle called Savera.
You’re really not making a strong argument here 🤷🏽♀️
Since the video I shared confused you, maybe you can have your students read the article and provide a summary for you. https://t.co/uuDXfhGuo3
Audrey, @lsanger says that paid editors on Wikipedia are roaming around perpetrating biases & damaging reputations of major orgs like @HinduAmerican.
And while you’re on my TL, any response to this little nugget that @npovmedia exposed:
Wiki 👏🏽 editors 👏🏽 that 👏🏽 vandalized 👏🏽 HAF’s 👏🏽 page 👏🏽 also 👏🏽 wrote Truschke’s and H4HR’s 👏🏽 entries 👏🏽
🤔
@SuhagAShukla@vikramsampath@lsanger Engaging with @AudreyTruschke is basically “casting pearls in front of a swine” (Audrey being the swine) or hitting ur head to a brick wall (Audrey being the wall) or singing in front of a pig (Audrey being the pig)…you get the gist!
Don’t waste a single breath on this a$$h@le!
@SuhagAShukla@lsanger SAVERA is an anti-Hindu troll handle. Most South Asian handles are troll handles. It’s radical Islamists hiding their true identity. Too bad South Asian terminology was standardized by Harvard in cahoots with ISI.
@SuhagAShukla@lsanger@AudreyTruschke is an Anti-Hindu activist masquerading as a scholar spreading rhetoric on behalf of her Masters who pay her well enough and keep her employed @RutgersU . No wonder she went off topic regarding your post.
History provides plenty of examples where academic consensus turned out to be wrong, including cases where the consensus was about a group of people who advocated against the consensus and were initially dismissed by said academics.
- The “Mound Builder Race” theory
- Scientific racism
- The “Dying Race” theory
- The “Vanishing Indian” narrative
- Biological intellectual inferiority of women
- The “Martial Races” theory
- Cultural evolutionism
If an academic is unwilling to examine whether or not they are right or wrong under the pretense of “academic consensus” - about an organization that they have possibly helped force through demonstrably falsified narratives (ie the Wikipedia page on HAF…) … it smells rotten.
This “scholar-activist” appears to have a bad case of “arrest or deport everyone who doesn’t agree with me.”
Every calculation you have ever done uses a system India invented.
Before Indian mathematicians gave the world zero and the decimal place, Greek and Roman maths used letters for numbers. Try multiplying MXLVII by CCXCIV. Merchants, architects and astronomers across the ancient world were trapped.
Baghdad's Al-Khwarizmi (c.780–847) transmitted it west. His book on the Indian place system and algorithmic calculation laid the foundation of modern mathematics. The word "algorithm" is a corruption of his name. "Algebra" comes from his treatise title. Both are Arabic transmissions of Indian originals.
Abraham Seidenberg's History of Mathematics credits India's Sulba Sutras as the inspiration for all mathematics of the ancient world.
Lin Yutang, Chinese philosopher: "India was China's teacher in trigonometry, quadratic equations, grammar, phonetics."
Carl Sagan thought Vedic cosmology the only ancient system whose timescales correspond to modern scientific cosmology.
Every time a computer runs, it counts in a system India designed.
I remember when the BJP claimed that they’d given you footage of money exchanging hands during the 2008 confidence vote. You refused to air it. Yet every tweet of yours reeks of an undeserved air of moral superiority- much like Pakistani diplomacy.
