Remember chat, if Allbirds can spend a decade getting every tech bro to be wooly footed all year around and then become an ai infrastructure company… you can do anything
We are getting absolutely mogged by China on video models because they don’t care about copyright.
And Seedance 2 isn’t even broadly available in the U.S. yet.
It’s going to dominate all your feeds with the real release later this month. Things to think about…
We’re at that point of the timeline now where more and more people are unable to tell the difference between ai generated videos and real videos. This includes many very smart people I know who are familiar with the tech.
Differentiating them now isn’t just based on artifacts the model generates, but understanding contextual clues and making a probabilistic assessment of the likelihood that the scene is coherent with our own internal world model. Turns out many people either don’t make such assessments deeply or lack the contextual understanding in different videos to make an accurate assessment.
In a year or two, even these methods will become increasingly unreliable, while the ease of distribution and consumption of these videos will just increase.
Wild times.
Seedance is an insane model. But don’t agree we’ve blown past the Turing test. We need generalization across the long tail of physical interactions and compositional novelty. Eg: this old man and the sea video fails on that: https://t.co/Hs2xvqQpcl
Getting so close though!
We just blew through the Turing Test for AI video.
Seedance 2 is an insane model - props to the team 👏
Prompt: photorealistic shot of the women's beam final at the olympics. gymnast from the united states does a back handspring and lands firmly on the beam, with the commentators exclaiming wildly
You do not remember the weary stone ground over time, nor the first grain to push back the ocean, nor the far flung speck crossing continents to settle. You only know the wonderful whisper of the sand, you revel in the moment, you are a moment.
Immortality is attained by having children, leaving the world in a better place than you found it, and pushing the human frontier. Not by drinking “longevity mix powder”.
This is fucking crazy. Not fun or fulfilling? Have you heard that belly laugh? Just because you said a word funny?
There’s nothing more fun than that belly laugh
Someone told me they don’t play with their kids because they don’t find it fun or fulfilling. We’ve completely lost the plot. Something doesn’t have to be fun or fulfilling for it to be important to do. Parenting is an act of service. It’s not about you. Play with your kids.
@adamdotdev This “adult in the room” framing is pretty rude to the Claude Code team that built a product hitting $1B run-rate revenue faster than probably anything in history. Bun made like $2.50 total (stickers).
Engineering is relative to time & tradeoffs & they made fantastic tradeoffs
