@foosballprdgy28@fps_crash@GSS_Dev This is not the case anymore? MnK players want a game like this, 110k players on Steam for the beta is more then enough to let them have input-based-matchmaking. And I can tell you 1000s of MnK players don't even try anymore, because of AA.
@fps_crash@GSS_Dev That’s why I played xDefiant so much—input-based matchmaking option.
Like a game as huge as CoD would lose nothing doing this; the argument of “empty” lobbies can’t be a real concern…
MW4 Aim Assist is Broken
I have less than 5 hours of experience on controller with fps games, and I can hit these clips in under an hour.
"B-but you "aimers" are all cheaters!!!" when controller players literally have built-in aimlock. 🤡
Based on the information I was to get with raw mouse tester data there is no sign of any thing like that on the HTX, each input had unique movement data with no duplicates, there was no sign of 250 µs pairing, no 4K or lower signature in the data, no pattern of lag, odd/even reports were balanced, based on all the given information I can gather with the tools accessible to me it all points to actual wireless 8k. I would take them at their word for it.
But the only way to know 100% is having access to the firmware or using a RF capture device.
Where is the evidence that the 54L15 can only handle 1 kHz sensor updates?
For wireless use, the 54L15 has its own integrated 2.4 GHz radio PHY, and its available RF bandwidth is more than sufficient in principle for an 8 kHz mouse data stream. The 2.4 GHz receiver then handles the USB HS side and outputs 8K to the PC.
So the lack of a USB HS PHY on the 54L15 is relevant to wired 8K, but I don’t see how it proves a 1K limitation on the wireless sensor.
That explains why the 54L15 can’t do native 8K USB directly, but in wireless mode the HS-USB PHY is handled by the receiver, not the MCU inside the mouse.
The 54L15 still handles the mouse-side work, sensor reads/processing, RF packet scheduling, buttons, etc. and has a 128 MHz M33, 32 MHz HS-SPI and 4 Mbps proprietary RF.
So how does lacking a USB HS PHY prove the wireless sensor/RF pipeline is limited to 1K/4K? Is there any evidence it can’t acquire/process/transmit fresh motion every 125 µs?
Sure, 8K USB reports don’t prove 8K source data. But where does the claim that the 54L15 itself only runs the mouse data pipeline at 1 kHz come from?
With a 128 MHz M33, 32 MHz HS-SPI and proprietary RF up to 4 Mbps, an 8 kHz pipeline is at least mathematically plausible: 8 kHz means one update every 125 µs, or roughly 16,000 CPU cycles per update before hardware/DMA offload.
I can’t find any documented 1 kHz sensor/RF ceiling. To me, if a specific 54L15 implementation is limited to 1K/2K/4K, that seems more likely to be a firmware/design limitation, since the published hardware specs appear capable of supporting an 8 kHz pipeline.
I agree the 54L15 lacks native HS-USB, which is why I also find the wired 8K claim questionable. But my testing was wireless, where the receiver, not the 54L15 in the mouse, needs to handle the HS-USB side.
The HTX receiver is running USB High-Speed with interrupt endpoints at bInterval = 1 microframe = 125 µs, and host-side capture shows ~8,000 reports/s, so the receiver→PC side is clearly capable of 8K.
My question is specifically: what evidence shows the 54L15 sensor/RF pipeline is limited to 4K and therefore has to transmit using some form of 2×4K interleaving?
@g_wolves Wireless stability really is some of the best on the market (HTX Ultra 8k) and it has been for a while. I posted a 4k comparison last week too and it's just one of the best feeling mice I used. I'll test some more mice at 4k/8k when I get time to do it.
Currently I mostly run all my mice at 4k or even 2k for actual usage.
I need some help. What is the consensus recently around mouse skates, which are good for cloth/glass? I need some speedy skates for cloth (I was using jades and then the P8 from Artisan for a while) for glass I would actually also run Jades and just burn through them cuz I loved the smoothness. Any recommendations?
I have a stash of old skates that I need to dump out or sort out, because I used to buy way to many. Now I have enough to feed a family of 4 for 6 months with dots 😭
