Saying that the first half of that final was because Rodri was on the field is disingenuous to spain's playstyle. Rodri is a DM, he had more defensive contributions in that one half than rice had in 90.

y'know how hard it is for defenders to win stuff like that. When analysts and formers players choose a player like Rodri, it means a lot. Spain only conceded ONE goal. I think it's crazy if someone in that backline DIDN'T win the award.

@socraticjuan @HabibahmedO Just flat out wrong. Rodri was subbed off in the euro for an injury at halftime, and they did not do "fine" without him. It took a last minute goal from Oyarzabal to win. Also, don't act like Spain is fine without Rodri if you're not gonna acknowledge a Spain side without Rodri.

@yimbyman No local TV deals. Subscription is realy annoying, I do watch the MLS cup, as it's including because I live about an hour and a half from the stadium. But it's really hard to start paying a bunch when I can usually watch a premier league game for free.
