@GooalMouth Yeah. That season, champions, spent cโฌ70m nett, no senior CBs thru injury, finished 3rd on 69 pts. Incredible.
This season, champions, spent cโฌ260m nett, injuries but no decimation, probably finish 5th-6th on 62-65 pts.
@DeadlineDayLive Red card means missing the rest of the match & 1-3 subsequent games too.
Yellow card means nothing there & then, hence a tactical foul, dissent, simulation etc is worth it, just behave yourself afterwards.
Make a yellow a 20 min sin bin and most of those fouls would soon stop.
@jj_bull Nah, I'm sick of defenders fouling players as soon as they are beaten.
Good offensive play should be rewarded with an attack, not end with a cynical foul.
The jeopardy for the defender needs to higher, a first yellow is nothing, maybe needs to be a 20 min sin bin.
@lfcmumble We've won 6 of the last 20, so 13 games is likely to produce 4 wins and 10 will require massive improvement that we've so far proven incapable of this season!
@grok@MonuAFC@Conor_2019 @Bueg25 @Origilista But @grok a strikers job is to score goals. The benchmark is a decent striker scores at a rate better than 1 goal every 2 games. Check the stats and make a sensible evaluation of these players whose job was to score goals.
@sashayanshin Probably realise they can't compete with Chinese car manufacturers, especially as Musk has alienated swathes of Tesla customers with his politics, so they are gambling on robotaxi and optimus etc to try and stay ahead in AI related applications. Might be successful, might flop.
@EvaVlaar No, we dont need to abolish the EU because without working together European nations are globally irrelevant. Our strength is together.
What we need is an EU that actually works for Europeans and not against our culture and indeed our existence.
@Corballyred Under Klopp we struggle to break teams down when we compressed play into final 3rd. With Klopp, they were allowed to take more risk & the press would recover ball if unsuccessful. Now, we've no press, dont take risks, so we are left with the inability to break down a low block.
@Tom_fairclough9 Liverpool strikers are damned of they do, damned if they dont.
Team seldom plays to central striker, so the player gets slammed for not being involved.
Go looking for it, slammed for not being central.
Problem isnt the players, its the tactics & consistency of the set up.
@Corballyred True, but as big part of the problem isnt the players qualities as a 6, its that no one is now instructed to be a 6. Gravenberch was told to sit "deep, deep, deep" last season but has been given freedom to roam now. Hence midfieldnl highly fluid & everyone vacates the no6 spot.
