In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
This is so pathetic.
An ad portraying a white loser makes Matt Walsh feel affronted due to his sense of racial honor.
I don’t know, maybe they didn’t use a black single mother because then viewers would be more sympathetic to welfare users?
What a way to go through life.
Again why do these people act like only their feelings matter?
A lot of people are anti-immigration. But a lot of people have strong liberal and anti-racist instincts too.
It’s not a matter of thinking America is just an “economic zone.” I believe American values include an open immigration system based on logical needs, treating people as individuals, and not having policy determined by the more tribal among us.
That’s why Ben Shapiro types say “facts don’t care about your feelings” and try to argue about things objectively.
In Europe, the nativist parties get at most like 25-35% of the vote. If we had a multiparty system in the US it would probably be similar. The vast majority of people vote for parties that refuse to even form a coalition with nativists.
I think immigration is good for the economy and Americans’ standard of living. And most Americans agree with an immigration system that maximizes American living standards, and only a tiny minority want to prioritize race.
The feelings argument doesn’t even stand on its own merits.
@LemonCaffee link's mother left hyrule and took him to kokiri forest for him to have a better life then deku tree decided to send the migrant kid to fight a war when it became beneficial to him ts no ordinary tree thats donald trunk
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
-Desire for a benevolent dictator
-Binary good/evil view of world
-Intolerance for heterodox thinking
-Prone to conspiracy theories
-Populist lens for everything
-Strong opposition to small l liberalism
-Highly skeptical of institutions
etc etc
It’s amazing how DSA freaks spend all their time saying “We’re crazy radicals! We love Hamas and Hezbollah! Here’s our platform where we advocate eliminating all border security and law enforcement and having every major industry centrally controlled by the House of Representatives!” and then if you respond “that sounds psychotic, I’d vote for Trump before I’d vote for you” they’re like “What! You asshole! All we want is a $15 minimum wage and universal healthcare!”
@getnickwright Jordan is "preferred" by certain people because he doesn't have the guts to speak on politics like LeBron. "Jordan the killer" has no fucking guts.
No, THANK YOU! Truly a honor to wear the 💜💛 while trying to continuing the greatness & legacies that came before me! Hope I made a few proud during my stint. 🙏🏾🫡👑
I see your profile picture. That’s Johnny Cash. My hero too. Arrested seven times. Smuggled 668 amphetamines across the Mexican border in 1965. Took every drug there was and drank like I did. Cheated on his first wife. Slept with more woman than I ever did. Hit bottom in a cave in Tennessee in 1968 trying to crawl off and die. And then he got up. He got clean. He spent the rest of his life singing for prisoners and addicts and the people the country threw away because he knew he was one of them.
That was the whole point of the Man in Black. He wore it for the poor and the beaten down. He wore it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime. He wore it for the ones who never heard a word of Jesus. He wore it for the addicted and the dying. He wore it as a standing witness that no one is past saving.
You picked his picture. You did not pick his message. Try listening to the words.
“Bringing in James Harden to win a championship is like electing Donald Trump to fix your country.”
