It's an effort to promote public awareness on the Convention United Nations Convention Against Torture (UNCAT) including unacceptable nature of torture & other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment either in custody, interrogation / as means of punishment / disciplinary measure
Therefore, information obtained through torture is not reliable because victims will often say what their torturers want to hear to make the pain stop.
